The team was formed due to parents and kids wanting to see what competition was outside of the area so top players from teams in the area were asked to join. They had about 2 practices and one scrimmage against McLean and went down to Texas and won the Super Copa tournament Gold bracket.

Fixed that for you - also June TX tournaments not the best idea. The competition has dropped off a bunch the last few years after teams had some miserable experiences. Nice to see they're moving it to SLC though.

No it wasn't just for his kid. Multiple kids on the team had done the tournament the year before in Florida with different clubs, to include his kid. A bunch of the kids and the parents wanted to see the kids play together. The parents ask the TD if he'd be willing to put together a team, so he did. The team had girls for like 6 different clubs in the area, so it was hardly a secret.

It moves locations each year. This will be the 2nd year in Utah.

Second bracket = Gold Bracket… not that it matters. Kudos to you though for clarifying that. They went 5-0-1 drawing against Real Colorado. They tied Real in their bracket and Real moved up to the FIRST bracket based on GD. Kudos to them. They put a bunch of top players together, had a handful of practices and performed very well together. Why are you discrediting the team and tournament? One can only assume. The top 2013’s in this area are very talented and they all play for different clubs. They all know each other, but that doesn’t mean they will all be on the same 2013 ECNL team.

This is such a great concept for building the team, Wish they keep doing this every year and hold the tryout for all top players in the area.

Sounds like a bunch of Instagram players which is the new thing parent created Instagram accounts for u little so they become popular and go play in some non sense tournament in the Midwest.

Regular (not all-star) teams in our area managed to make the SUPERCOPA (not gold) finals. It's not special, it's just an event taking advantage of parents of U-Littles to make them feel special. I hope you feel special with the DMV all-stars.
