Fixed that for you - also June TX tournaments not the best idea. The competition has dropped off a bunch the last few years after teams had some miserable experiences. Nice to see they're moving it to SLC though.

Second bracket = Gold Bracket… not that it matters. Kudos to you though for clarifying that. They went 5-0-1 drawing against Real Colorado. They tied Real in their bracket and Real moved up to the FIRST bracket based on GD. Kudos to them. They put a bunch of top players together, had a handful of practices and performed very well together. Why are you discrediting the team and tournament? One can only assume. The top 2013’s in this area are very talented and they all play for different clubs. They all know each other, but that doesn’t mean they will all be on the same 2013 ECNL team.

Regular (not all-star) teams in our area managed to make the SUPERCOPA (not gold) finals. It's not special, it's just an event taking advantage of parents of U-Littles to make them feel special. I hope you feel special with the DMV all-stars.

Yes, I will make my kid feel special!
You hate cuz you ain’t!

That’s great. I have no opinion on a group of “DMV all-stars”. I only know that there’s a lot of talent in that age group and for them to go and compete against top clubs from across the country is impressive. It’s not a “regular” team playing year-round with each other.

Every team brings guest players so there are zero “regular” teams competing at these events and making it to SuperCopa finals. SYC does it, Loudoun does it, McLean does it, Bethesda does it, etc. “Regular teams” do not compete at these events without guest players. Tell me I’m wrong…

Guess you can’t read either. EVERY TEAM brings guest players. I don’t give two cents where you’re from.

There's a difference bringing one or two guest players because kids/parents don't want to travel to TX in June vs. forming an actual all-star team. Either way, these tournaments at these ages are BS and you know it. I know I struck a chord, but tournaments like this are a joke.

Different poster but I agree that these are a total joke especially at these young ages.

No chords struck. These tournaments are the only way youth teams get a chance to see other teams from across the country. It’s a different story when they reach GA/MLSNext/ECNL and attend showcases. Are those also a joke?

because it doesnt matter. No one gives a hoot that 9-11 yr olds go across the country. Show cases are a different story for older kids. But also are a joke if you are not seeded in top bracket.

In HS, generally around sophomore year, the travel tournaments are showcases. No more trophies. It’s another money grab if your kids team is not in top bracket. Colleges do not show up to watch lower brackets.

This isn’t true. College coaches show up to watch the players that have written them and have shown an interest in their school. Bracket does not matter.

No they don’t. You know how many teams and kids that write and show interest. Theres too many. They track the college stats at these showcases. They are really bad once you are not in top bracket.

Sooo what exactly are you bringing to the table in this thread? Lol. A question was asked about a particular team, the question was answered, there was no flex of how prestigious the tournament or results were. For some reason though some folks decided to downplay the tournament, results and players. Some of yall need to go have a drink, a smoke or go play a video game instead of attempting to make yourselves feel better about your Dribble Up kids by coming down on others and what they decide to do.
