You are the one who sounds like a troll and I’m a Williams alum. Georgetown is elite in certain circles and not everyone is a perfect fit for a lac education. They’re both fantastic places to go to college. |
+1 Or try for both and decide once you have more information |
lol |
|
Williams you get in because you are an above average athlete who is above average academically.
Georgetown you get in because you are excellent academically. |
This. And you need a lot of dough for either. |
I also had the same decision and picked Williams bc it seemed to have better finance recruiting opportunities. I enjoyed my time there and ended up with a job I had hope for. I didn’t take any philosophy classes but a roommate majored in it and loved her classes. |
Williams has higher prestige than Georgetown. This is simply a DMV opinion. |
You have no idea what you’re talking about. I was an Econ major at Williams and went on the investment banking on wall st. At Williams I had already covered much of what I was taught in my summer analyst training. Inhad classes titled economics of finance, advanced economics of finance, etc. I could not have been better prepared. The accounting majors from bigger schools who had weak writing and presentation experience were the ones who were ill prepared. |
| Williams is a much more prestigious school and the clear choice unless you don’t want to be in rural MA. And wanting to be in a vibrant city instead of rural MA is totally valid! |
This is true and sometimes - for some people - the counselor will slip in this extra information...which is frustrating (especially when they give this information in a misleading way - such as a rank that doesn't include any bumps for rigor). |
My DC at Georgetown hated Williams and wouldn't even apply. This sort of statement is always ridiculous. There are quite large differences between these two schools on dimensions that are clearly just a matter of preferences. Not every decision is based on USWNR ranking. |
I love it! It makes me smile every time |
Same!! Bucknell booster has become a true DCUM legend |
| For some, age 18-22 can be the ideal time to experience a truly residential small rural college community, which is what Williams offers. Georgetown can always be an option for professional/grad school later on. But it really depends on the individual person and what kind of college environment they’re interested in. |
why are you just a defensuve and nasty person? Your school may not rank officially but all the admin know the rank as do the students as does the colleges. |
