Awards Season 24-25

Emilia Perez was trash and I royally annoyed it's going to sweep tomorrow. Lee was an amazing movie and its a shame Kate won't get any recognition for it. It took her over 8 years to make and she even personally paid the crew salary when funding. I guess Torres will take that last spot. Whatever.

Also a bit sad and surpised Ralph isn't the frontrunner for many people. What an annoying season.

No real shockers with the Oscar noms. Happy for Fernanda Torres, who snagged the fifth Best Actress slot. I would have picked Marianne Jean-Baptiste over Gascon or Erivo, but it's a solid slate. I think any of them could win it!

Can't believe Sebastian Stan made it in, wow!

Disappointed and surprised Danielle Deadwyler didn't make it. She's a force. Was Monica Barbaro that good? Haven't see A Complete Unknown yet.

Very happy for Demi. Campaigning does matter, and hers was flawless! I don't think she'll win, though I agree with PP it's a pretty open race now.

I'm happy Isabella Rossellini made it in even though she probably had far less screen time than the other nominees. She was SO good.

I'm mainly hoping the Moore and Rossellini nominations lead to better work for them!

it should have been Marianne's. Good to know the trifecta win means zip.

Love how people were going on about some not being BAFTA longlisted when Monica Barbaro came out of nowhere. How unfair to Margaret Qualley.

MJB also got into the racist BAFTA. What an amazing run she had for nothing. The voters were obviously only going off GG.

I 100% hope Timothee Chalamet wins.

I'm pulling for Ralph Fiennes, incredible performance.

I would have picked Marianne over most of them. That's the only real snub in my opinion.

I thought either she or Torres would make it in. I think Torres's film is considered stronger and obviously her GG win gave her a boost.

I can't speak to Barbaro's performance but, while I thought Qualley did a great job, her role was not as dimensional as Demi's. I'm not shocked she wasn't nom'd, though I would have been perfectly happy if she was. I think Deadwyler is the bigger snub.
