“ I’m not worthy of full rights and bodily autonomy. Let stronger and smarter men be the steward of what is best for me and my daughters.”

I'm smart enough to use appropriate birth control, choose a mature and caring partner who respects me and our children, and use my God-given brains wisely. No one else is my steward. Speak for yourself.

Outlawing birth control is next.

Totally absurd concern.

We have daughters and sons, and don't want their reproductive health (or repro health of their partners) to be compromised.

I have decided to lie to all my circles about voting for Trump. I would be a pariah if I admitted it.

+1. Me too.

Several weeks ago I was having lunch with an old friend whom I've known for 25 years. I decided to try to come out of the closet and tell her that I'm voting for Trump. She started crying, right there in the middle of lunch, in a busy DC restaurant.

I learned my lesson!

I would have cried too. End of friendship.

That’s why I never tell anyone who I vote for an let them think I agree with their beliefs.

Anonymous wrote:My response to Michael Moore where were they in 2022?

In the 2022 Midterms (1) Republicans won the House then, (2) Trump the leading cadidate *was not* on the ballot to help down ballot races he brings lots of R. voters to elections, (3) strict abortion measures were rolled back in many states since then.

So what am I missing here?

What Michael is missing is there are MANY issues at play, not just abortion. But this is DCUM, so they only see one thing.

Frankly, I like individual states to each have their own say.

Exactly.
It makes sense for your state, with a gerrymandered Republican statehouse, to be making the decisions women aren’t to be trusted with.
Roger, Chuck, and Dave have been pillars of the community, they have prayed about this with their pastors and parish priests. We don’t need the federal nanny state coming in and telling these men how to govern.
Let the good ol’ boys handle this at the state level, as Jesus intended.

Why? How unauthentic .. I wouldn’t want to be friends w someone who has different values.
I’d thank the friend for telling me the truth too.

It’s unhinged to not want to be friends with someone based on their values? Sounds logical to me.

She is upset that her close friend turns out to support racism, sexism and autocracy. I would be upset too.

You said the same thing about SCOTUS nominations and Roe.

That’s not unhinged. To find out that someone you loved has first of all been lying to you for years and second of all isn’t the decent person you thought they were? Sorry. End of friendship.

Women who are voting for Trump and the GOP are voting for their own second class status. It is permission to grant yourselves non-citizenship. Project 2025 is pretty clear where the GOP thinks they should go, and if you call it “hyperbole” (if you know a word that big as a Trump voter), remember that you all used to tell us that Roe would never be overturned.

Smugness doesn't typically end well. You haven't had the chance for that to play out yet.

Yes, I have. We have two adult children. I'm post-menopausal.

Ah the old “I got mine, I’m gonna kick you in the teeth” routine. Yep. Maga.

We have a thriving economy but I guess you have been in a coma because abortion is, indeed, a major issue with women all over the country.

What about ectopic pregnancies?
What about non-viable fetuses, are they expected to be carried to term?

I can list 100 other circumstances that have nothing to do with your screed.

Don't bother. PP is likely one of those women who just assume nothing bad like that will ever happen.

Yes, and no inflation, secure borders and a president who does not have dementia.
