Michael Moore expects large female turnout on Abortion

Yet you’re so dumb that you think that birth control would remain legal (if the GOP gets in office? That’ll be gone), that you’d have the same rights to choose a partner (better pray you don’t get raped and conceive from that because that guy would be in your life forever), and any rights to work in jobs that would be deemed suitable for men. You would have a steward. Look at Afghanistan.

But the probability rests on you being a guy and one who thinks this is a full joke. Trolling.

I'm French living in DC, and I've lived in Europe, Asia and North America.

The US economy is the envy of the world, that is correct. It has bounced back better form Covid than any other.

Of course inflation has hurt families in the US, particularly in certain manufacturing sectors. But nothing like other parts of the world, like in France and Germany, who have themselves fared far better than other developed countries.

So stop whining and vote for what's actually important. Your basic freedom. If you can't decide what you want to do with your own body, you are a slave. Not a PC term. But it's true.

“ I’m not worthy of full rights and bodily autonomy. Let stronger and smarter men be the steward of what is best for me and my daughters.”

I'm smart enough to use appropriate birth control, choose a mature and caring partner who respects me and our children, and use my God-given brains wisely. No one else is my steward. Speak for yourself.

Outlawing birth control is next.

None of that helps you when you (or more likely your “mature and caring partner”) are miscarrying your much wanted child during a long layover at Hartsfield-Jackson and the stewards you don’t seem to think you have chosen have tied the hands of the doctors who could otherwise save your life, health or future fertility.

We have daughters and sons, and don't want their reproductive health (or repro health of their partners) to be compromised.

I have decided to lie to all my circles about voting for Trump. I would be a pariah if I admitted it.

Then you are the perfect MAGA woman (if you are not actually a man). The little lady just isn't strong enough to stand behind her convictions.

Of course. But that doesn’t mean you’ll be prosecuted so long as you’re well-connected and loyal to the Trump-Vance axis.

It’s on the books as yet another tool to target the libs, to own every fiber of their being. You want to avoid that fate? You know what you need to do.

Smugness doesn't typically end well. You haven't had the chance for that to play out yet.

Yes, I have. We have two adult children. I'm post-menopausal.

It’s a big deal. If there is a national abortion ban, my DD will get an IUD. A few of her friends want to get their tubes tied as they think they don’t want kids. Date rape in college is far too common. It’s not even just from drinking, it’s from getting your drink spiked. The girls have special straws that detect date rape drugs now. Being forced by the state, to serve as your rapists human incubator is not something any women should be forced to endure.

DH and I probably would not have had kids if elective and medically necessary abortion was banned. I could not bear being forced by the state to continue with a non viable pregnancy and wait for the fetus to just die left only with the damage to my body and astronomical medical bills.

These are not uncommon occurrences. It has nothing to do with being careful.

And when your children or grandchildren or their mates need women's healthcare?

+1

If you’re just going to vote to end your own rights, maybe don’t vote instead of trying to take every other woman down with you. If Trump wins, in a few years I guarantee you’ll be able to see the connection between abortion and the rest of what your Christofascist party wants to do to rights.

Wow, another sane and tolerant liberal! And please don't mock my devotion to Christ and his teachings. Good luck to you on judgment day.

You do realize there are many of us who believe in the teachings of Christ and are horrified by the current state of affairs of the GOP? Trump is antithetical to everything that is Christian. So I’m not going to mock your religion, just your hypocrisy.

+1. Me too.

Several weeks ago I was having lunch with an old friend whom I've known for 25 years. I decided to try to come out of the closet and tell her that I'm voting for Trump. She started crying, right there in the middle of lunch, in a busy DC restaurant.

I learned my lesson!

Anonymous wrote:My response to Michael Moore where were they in 2022?

In the 2022 Midterms (1) Republicans won the House then, (2) Trump the leading cadidate *was not* on the ballot to help down ballot races he brings lots of R. voters to elections, (3) strict abortion measures were rolled back in many states since then.

So what am I missing here?

What Michael is missing is there are MANY issues at play, not just abortion. But this is DCUM, so they only see one thing.

Frankly, I like individual states to each have their own say.

Totally absurd concern.
