Since he is, in fact, a dem, I think it's fine to signal the attendant alignment in values and priorities. Whatever the reasons he missed the caucus for the endorsement, it will probably doom his campaign and so I think it's unhelpful for this thread to dwell on it.
What matters to me most as a voter is who will actually push back on the bizarrely inept leadership in Syphax. Whoever wins, I am praying for Board Members more like Kadera than the (IMO awful) Priddy and Diaz-torres. Does anyone here have a strong sense of who would have the spine to ever challenge Duran and his "Cabinet"?
Weiss and Rives
But people here don't want pushback from people they disagree with (Rives)
yeah I don't want Rivers because he's anti trans.
What is the basis for the comment about Rives? I googled but couldn’t find anything. Thanks.
Rives views are quite well known in the LGBTQ+ community.
If you're looking for something in the news, here you go -https://www.insidenova.com/opinion/letters_to_editor/letter-sutton-has-best-credentials-experience-in-school-board-race/article_2a966076-5aa1-11ed-8247-73362725b986.html
Weird, all that article says is “While Rives dances around taking a position on Gov. Youngkin’s model policies attacking trans students…”
How does that demonstrate that Rives is “anti-trans”??
So "dancing around" isn't enough to convince you huh?
Check out the AGIA candidate responses. Very telling who supports trans students (Zuraya, Kathleen, Paul) and who does not (Vell Rives). Vell Rives is not the kind of person I want on the school board.
