Things do change, that’s 100% true, but when a kid is exceptional in 7th and 8th grade, there is a better chance of them remaining that way than dropping off. Does it happen? Of course, but not often. Please provide examples of kids who destroyed in NGLL mid atl in middle school and bombed in HS, prove me wrong. If you are even able to provide examples, it will be a tiny list.

Maturing early can create the illusion of athletic superiority in middle school. I could give you countless examples of players who flamed out but that would be totally inappropriate. I would think someone so knowledgeable of players over multiple years would already know this.

Nah, you can’t, but you just can’t let it go. Some elite girls get burned out and quit, but again, small list.

And you do have a point about maturing early, but that is something you see in 4th and 5th. By 8th grade, you can tell who 90% of elite girls in HS will be.

Look, I get it, your kid doesn’t get invited to stuff, it’s cool. Have them keep working and maybe they can be one of those 1 in 100,000 kids that sucked in MS and commits to BC or Cuse in HS.

I just checked us club lacrosse’s rankings for 2025, 2026, and 2027 classes, and as I suspected, top teams remained at the top, there wasn’t this massive upheaval where wine mom’s kid turned into charlotte north in 11th grade. Lmao.

UA 150 is fine, but it not that good especially compared to what it used to be. There are significantly better options available.

Because the top teams recruited better players to remain good. There is so much shuffling of players at the high school level, you cant compare 7th grade to 10th grade teams.

These '29 dads make me laugh; you look foolish making these predictions and show your inexperience. First, significant injuries can and WILL happen -- ACLs, stress fractures, shoulders, ankles, to a fair number of players, not just one or two. Second, the big girls in 7th grade, may not be as big by sophomore year and not nearly as dominate. Third, position changes will happen. Mediocre middies play defense and slow defenders get bumped. Fourth, the best athletes in 7th grade have lots of options--hoops, soccer, etc, and may not even play lax in high school.

Here is the first wave for the 3 classes. More to come, but the list is impressive so far, especially for 2029 class.

The list is impressive at 2029 because it is the only game in town at the 2029 level, UA150 decided to go one more year younger to get more money and perhaps prevent them from leaving the next year.

In case you haven't noticed, its a theme with all these events, they keep getting younger and bigger because $$$$

BIC has 2029s this summer, and American Select had 2029s last summer. I understand that some feel that UA150 has lost some juice, but it could just be that 2029 is a stacked class and a bunch of the girls decided UA150 was worth it. Real rub occurs when JO is an option for them too.

2029 is a stacked class? What are you basing that off of?

Right UA150 for 2029s, there is no Juniors Open, there is no compeitiion.

All America just added a 29/30 split team this year, never been done before. Again, go younger, get more $$$.
Two years ago, American Select added a rising 8th grader team for same reason. These aren't recruiting events, its a way to get your name on social media and build a resume.

Off of being a lacrosse player and coach my entire life, and having observed the 2024, 2025, 2025, 2027, 2028, and 2030 classes, while having a 2029 player. It is a stacked class, a ton of high end talent, and my kid has played against all the girls on that list and they are beasts.

LOL, ok buddy.

So your rationale is, UA150 was like
"Wow these 2029s are so stacked, we gotta open it up for rising freshman for the first time in history cause of the pure talent".

Let me say this, the only person who can judge how one class is stacked against years prior would be a D1 college coach who has scouted them all those years, or Inside Lacrosse person, but nobody can sit there are compare current 8th graders and 7th graders with classes from 2024-2026, let alone 2027 which is only now being scouted.

I never said that about UA150, they would have had a 2029 class regardless. But it is a stacked class, I couldn’t care less what you think. Like I said, have observed (ie scouted) all of the top clubs and top players from those classes, and 2029 has as much if not more high end talent than the rest. It’s hilarious that you think you need to be some nerd from IL to be able to tell that a class is stacked, and I guarantee you that I have watched more of these girls than D1 coaches. But I get it, you think UA150 sucks and is a money grab. It is probably because your daughter didn’t make it, but to each their own.

Dude, the words you use to describe your unusual scouting hobby is pretty creepy.

LOL, you are such a loser. I coach multiple age groups, have 3 daughters in different age groups, and I am coaching at camps and showcases all summer. You are just a bitter DC SSRI taking wine mom who’s kid doesn’t make all star circuits, so you have to talk smack about those programs.

Either you are total sh#t talker, or stupid enough to dox yourself. I'm betting the former because nobody could be dumb enough to do the latter. Prove me wrong people, do you know of a village idiot local coach with three daughters who coaches multiple teams and at clinics?

Turnover at big clubs is rarely massive, a few kids here and there, and of course injuries happen. And yes, kids can chose other sports, but those two things are way different than an elite middle schooler all of sudden sucks in HS. That rarely happens, I’ve been doing this for years, first on boys side, and for last 10 on girls side. I have a 2029, but I also have two older girls and a way older son. I’ve been through this over and over, and the people that hold your position are almost always just bitter parents who’s kids can’t cut it, so they have to lie to themselves.

Sure thing, wine mom. The 2029 class will be entering the recruiting cycle soon, so go ahead and print out the wave one ua150 2029 list and come on this board once they start committing. Those girls will be scooped up by top college teams and all the bitter moms like you will screech about how your B team kid is better but just didn’t get the chance.

I don’t coach, but ive been around long enough to know that this coach/dad is right. There are exceptions but most kids who are dominate in 8th grade remain dominant. Some kids catch up, some kids quit, some kids chose another sport ultimately, but i cant think of many great middle school players who just became bad in 11th. She definitely has a kid thst gets cut and isnt invitef anywhere.

No way this is an adult right? You’ve scouted every class in the last 5 years?

There are great players in every class you donkey, for you to be this delusional that you can somehow differentiate the depth of these classes, not to mention a few where the girls haven’t even hit puberty, it’s amazing.

Anonymous
I have worked with or watched the majority of the players from top ranked teams from 2025-2030, yes. Coached in club, in HS, and even as a grad assistant in college. It’s really not that difficult to see who the top players are and assess relative depth of different classes as they progress. Again, there will always be some late bloomers, there will always be some
elite kids who drop off, but those are exceptions to the rule. I can definitely look at the 2029 kids right now and tell you that 9 out of 10 of the elite kids will remain elite throughout HS. And like I said, come back in a few years; the 2029 kids at UA150 and BIC next summer will still be the majority of the elite kids come 12th grade.
