I just checked us club lacrosse’s rankings for 2025, 2026, and 2027 classes, and as I suspected, top teams remained at the top, there wasn’t this massive upheaval where wine mom’s kid turned into charlotte north in 11th grade. Lmao.
Because the top teams recruited better players to remain good. There is so much shuffling of players at the high school level, you cant compare 7th grade to 10th grade teams. These '29 dads make me laugh; you look foolish making these predictions and show your inexperience. First, significant injuries can and WILL happen -- ACLs, stress fractures, shoulders, ankles, to a fair number of players, not just one or two. Second, the big girls in 7th grade, may not be as big by sophomore year and not nearly as dominate. Third, position changes will happen. Mediocre middies play defense and slow defenders get bumped. Fourth, the best athletes in 7th grade have lots of options--hoops, soccer, etc, and may not even play lax in high school.
Turnover at big clubs is rarely massive, a few kids here and there, and of course injuries happen. And yes, kids can chose other sports, but those two things are way different than an elite middle schooler all of sudden sucks in HS. That rarely happens, I’ve been doing this for years, first on boys side, and for last 10 on girls side. I have a 2029, but I also have two older girls and a way older son. I’ve been through this over and over, and the people that hold your position are almost always just bitter parents who’s kids can’t cut it, so they have to lie to themselves.
