Anyone who says they can predict how talented a group can be with three/fours years until it matters is deluding themselves. So much changes in those three to four years it's likes apples to oranges.
Things do change, that’s 100% true, but when a kid is exceptional in 7th and 8th grade, there is a better chance of them remaining that way than dropping off. Does it happen? Of course, but not often. Please provide examples of kids who destroyed in NGLL mid atl in middle school and bombed in HS, prove me wrong. If you are even able to provide examples, it will be a tiny list.
Maturing early can create the illusion of athletic superiority in middle school. I could give you countless examples of players who flamed out but that would be totally inappropriate. I would think someone so knowledgeable of players over multiple years would already know this.
Nah, you can’t, but you just can’t let it go. Some elite girls get burned out and quit, but again, small list. And you do have a point about maturing early, but that is something you see in 4th and 5th. By 8th grade, you can tell who 90% of elite girls in HS will be. Look, I get it, your kid doesn’t get invited to stuff, it’s cool. Have them keep working and maybe they can be one of those 1 in 100,000 kids that sucked in MS and commits to BC or Cuse in HS.
