UA 150

Im not a lax expert and definitely cannot rank kids or classes, but it is clear that there are some parents who really can’t deal with fact that there kid might not ever be a big time player. Might change at some point but there aren’t many unknown kids in 8th/9th that end
Up at unc.

The 2029 class will be entering the recruiting cycle soon, so go ahead and print out the wave one ua150 2029 list and come on this board once they start committing. Those girls will be scooped up by top college teams and all the bitter moms like you will screech about how your B team kid is better but just didn’t get the chance.

Sure thing, Mr. Marinovich! SMH....

LOL, such a loser.

At least you recognize it.

It’s really not that difficult to see who the top players are and assess relative depth of different classes as they progress. Again, there will always be some late bloomers, there will always be some
elite kids who drop off, but those are exceptions to the rule. I can definitely look at the 2029 kids right now and tell you that 9 out of 10 of the elite kids will remain elite throughout HS. And like I said, come back in a few years; the 2029 kids at UA150 and BIC next summer will still be the majority of the elite kids come 12th grade.

Wow -- you are a real winner and lax rat. Some people actually grow up, but alas, that doesnt seem to be the case for you. I kind of feel bad for your daughter.

Haha, or just a guy who loves lacrosse and wanted to help his kids out and make a little side money doing it. Enjoy your kids rise to mediocre.

Anonymous wrote:Yes, it is a top heavy class. There are good kids on non top 10 teams, but the gap between tops teams and rest of country is a little more severe than some other classes. The top 3 teams at that age group (YJLI, M&D black, and MDU) are pretty far ahead of everyone else at this point as teams, but lots of talent around country.

The gap gets closer as the girls get older. I can see some up and coming teams challenging the 3 mentioned. But you are correct that those 3 teams will stay near the top.

That is a different argument.

I think we all agree top players at age 13 are likely to be top players at age 17.

The argument is, you are identifying these 13 years old as being more advanced and in higher numbers than the previous classes that came before them and after (2030) which I am saying at this point, is really impossible to say.

So if someone thinks your claim is absurd, they must have a mediocre daughter? Is that your logic?

I will be sure to let the 2028 and 2027 parents know the 2029s are all coming for their positions come High School.

MDU might be the top club at actually developing lacrosse talent (or they just get naturals due to the Annapolis location) but either way if this 2030 team can avoid losing kids to Hero's M&D and Skywalkers like many of the previous grad classes they will remain in top-5 for years.

2027 and 2028s both seem to have kept most of the talent there and are both top-15 teams.

For sure, just saying that it is a top heavy class at the moment. Might change, but as we get closer to HS, the likelihood of it changing is less.

Maybe, I could be wrong for sure, but my
experience with the sports tells me otherwise. But time will tell.

No, but when a wine mom chirps me about this subject matter, my experience leads me to believe that her kid is one of the ones not getting picked for stuff and she is bitter about it. Go back and read the entire thread; I stated an opinion, and drunky clutched her pearls and ran her mouth.

Not even close! MDU doesn’t recruit, most of the coaches are terrible, and they consistently lose their top talent once parents figure it out. They are lucky to be somewhat isolated from the bmore teams, they are good in years where the Annapolis area has talent and they don’t split it with Integrity. The 2027s are what they are and have held steady, but the 2028 team is losing ground every year. They went from winning NGLL Mid Atlantic, to being top 3, to being top 10, to now hanging on to top 15. They will not be a top 10 team again, zero recruiting.

Anyway…

Back to the original topic: yes, UA150 has lost some luster, there are other and sometimes better options for the older girls, but it is still worth it to some and the girls will have fun. The first wave is pretty impressive, especially the 2029 class.

And i thought 2028 parents were nuts...

LOL, this is 2029 dad isn't it?

Being ranked in the top-15 is pretty good thing, so the 2028s went from 3 to 5 to 9 to 12, so what, plenty of talent there. You can't spin that as a negative 2029 dad.
