UA 150

Back to the original topic: yes, UA150 has lost some luster, there are other and sometimes better options for the older girls, but it is still worth it to some and the girls will have fun. The first wave is pretty impressive, especially the 2029 class.

for like the third time, the 2029 class only option is UA150, there is not Juniors Open competing. Its also only the first 30 kids, they will add over 100 more.

My kid did UA150 last year, she enjoyed it. Lots of kids that didn't belong from non hotbeds which brought the play down a lot, but some very good players too. IMO, I'd do one year at UA150 and one year at Juniors, you check both boxes.

The top 3 teams at that age group (YJLI, M&D black, and MDU) are pretty far ahead of everyone else at this point as teams, but lots of talent around country.

The gap gets closer as the girls get older. I can see some up and coming teams challenging the 3 mentioned. But you are correct that those 3 teams will stay near the top.

MDU might be the top club at actually developing lacrosse talent (or they just get naturals due to the Annapolis location) but either way if this 2030 team can avoid losing kids to Hero's M&D and Skywalkers like many of the previous grad classes they will remain in top-5 for years.

2027 and 2028s both seem to have kept most of the talent there and are both top-15 teams.

Not even close! MDU doesn’t recruit, most of the coaches are terrible, and they consistently lose their top talent once parents figure it out. They are lucky to be somewhat isolated from the bmore teams, they are good in years where the Annapolis area has talent and they don’t split it with Integrity. The 2027s are what they are and have held steady, but the 2028 team is losing ground every year. They went from winning NGLL Mid Atlantic, to being top 3, to being top 10, to now hanging on to top 15. They will not be a top 10 team again, zero recruiting.

LOL, this is 2029 dad isn't it?

Being ranked in the top-15 is pretty good thing, so the 2028s went from 3 to 5 to 9 to 12, so what, plenty of talent there. You can't spin that as a negative 2029 dad.

Being top 15 is great, but my point is the trajectory is headed in wrong direction, which was a response to someone saying that MDU develops talents, because they dont. If they did, that 2028 team would’ve stayed in top 5. They will soon fade out of top 15 too, just wait.

Not true, and for the second time, there is American Selects and BIC for 2029s. Some talented kids have decided that UA is a good choice for them, why is that so hard to admit? Also, I said “The first wave is pretty impressive,” I know more kids are coming.

Me saying that the 2029 class is stacked and that UA150 picked some good kids who have accepted the invite shouldn’t be this controversial, but again, wine mom’s kid isn’t on anyone’s list, so it must be terrible and no one can have a different opinion.

The BIC and AS are DIFFERENT DAYS!

You don't have to pick one or the other, crazy parents like you can sign up for all 3 if you want.

Again, UA150 has no competition.

Maybe you don't understand what "development" means but it means taking young players and making them better. Keeping that talent through recruiting years is much different. If you followed the grad years as close as you say you do, you'd know there are top-10 ranked players on M&D who were on MDU in 3rd-4th-5th grad.

Skywalkers is perfect example. They add over 50% of their HS teams from other clubs. Same will happen with 2029, 2030s.

And again, not sure if MDU develops the talent or they are in such as talent rich area. You could make a run at a national title just having a team made up of Annapolis Area/Kent Island kids.

Most parents have limited resources, so the dates are irrelevant. UA150 does have competition at the 2029 class, yet some awesome players and their parents chose to sign up for UA.

And even if you are correct, and UA is the worst thing ever, that still doesn’t change the fact that the first wave of players is a wonderful list. I have worked with most of those girls at some point, and they are awesome.

Nah, those teams will keep their players and SW will just be a marginal A team from here on out.

Are you drunk already, you loser??? I was replying to someone who specifically mentioned the 27 and 28 teams, you moron.

But if you would like, I will be able to show
MDU’s lack of development with the other age groups too:

2025: average squad, never developed into anything more than that.

2026: horrible team, never improved and got worse.

2029: top 5 team in 6th grade and barely held onto top 15 last year. This year they will fall out of top 20, zero development.

2030: stud team, should remain that way, actually have good coaches at that age group.
