Any candidate who talks about terminating “all rules, regulations, and articles, even those found in the Constitution”, would seem to be headed in the hellhole direction. Right now, the Republican candidate is the only one who seems to object to the Constitution itself. The Democrats might wish to amend portions of it, but they would be following the guidelines embedded within the Constitution to make such changes. |

No they don't. Democrats lawfare things to get their way. They weaponize the legal system to go after opponents. They have their king sign unconstitutional executive orders and then play the gap until the Supreme Court steps in. They reinterpret language and terms to effect change. The refuse to enforce laws on the books to further their ideological stance of social and restorative justice. They seek to stack courts with favorable personalities, instead of virtuous ones, to get their way. I don't know where you've been, but everyone can see it for themselves. The only "guidelines: they follow are those barked out by the DNC, ACLU and SPLC. Who do you think you are fooling? |

One of my family members is MAGA. She was apolitical before Trump. I was thinking about her life and as a teen and young adult, she was in a religious cult which she regrets and disavows. It occurred to me that she must be the type of person who gets drawn into cults or falls for cons because her belief is cult-like again. Maybe a lot of people are like this.
I also expect that she will lose interest after a while because she's never been interested in politics before this and I think others will too. It's something of a fad and I think a lot will move on. Maybe not the proud Boys types, but others. |

I honestly find this hard to believe. More likely, your friends are reluctant to talk politics around you because you are so obviously biased. I live in NW DC and I know more than a few Trump supporters. In fact, I just wore my Trump-Vance t-shirt to Giant and got more than a few smiles and nods! |

I could forgive people who made a mistake in 2016, but if you support Trump/Vance in 2024, that says something about your character, really your lack of character, that cannot be ignored or rationalized away. It means you can't be trusted. You are willing to overlook things that should not be overlooked. It says you are fine with supporting a leader who is a convicted felon, a fraud, a serial liar, a sexual harasser/rapist, a serial adulterer, a grifter, not to mention a traitor against our country. It says you lack either critical thinking skills or integrity or both. This isn't a simple difference of opinion on financial policy here. |

My daughter will not vote for Harris because of the economy - she cannot believe how prices have skyrocketed since Biden got into office and why the heck she and her husband cannot afford a home in the DC area despite making over 200K and having over 100K down payment. The interest rate, home taxes and subsequent escrow take the monthly payments out of their reach. They are willing to take a hefty commute, but during Covid, all the DCers and close in had to have their 'country' homes out in Leesburg and west, driving the prices sky high. A year ago, the idea of moving seems unfathomable to both of them. Now they both want out. In addition, they have started digging into their own news sources and are surprised at how exaggerated the claims about Trump were. The last straw was the offering of all the goodies to the "newcomers" the Biden/Harris administration brought in, leaving poor Americans drowning. The farther she gets from her college years, the more practical she's becoming. |
