Lol. The Blue Zones have been proven to be fake |
?? There ARE areas where more people tend to live to 100+. That is not fake. I swear you’re the same weirdo who gets mad whenever anyone mentions being intentional with fiber intake. You have major beef with fiber for some bizarre reason. |
I eat oats and fruit, works for race horses and for me. |
I eat berries, avocado and mushroom every day on top of whatever other veggies I consume. |
No there are not. Those were proven to be not true. Those people were not as old as they were said to be |
One of the secrets to making it to 100+ is to be born on the 1st day of a month. Haha. Yes, blue zones are not real |
I'm very aware of this right now as my Wegovy has caused some serious constipation and my doctor was concerned.
In short: every meal I eat has protein and something with fiber. Breakfast = plain greek yogurt, 1 TB seeds (chia/hemp/flax mix), and berries (raspberry, blackberry, strawberry or a mix of both) and two prunes every day. I do eat "an apple a day" either with lunch or as a snack for the fiber. I have a lot of dishes with beans for lunch/dinner (veggie chili, mujadara, black bean enchiladas, etc). I also have bowls made with either brown rice or quinoa and a protein and veggies and that is almost always topped with avocado. I eat a lot of roast veggies, etc. I'm just paying attention in a way I didn't before. |
Not remotely. |
You are such a tool. Millennials are 3x more likely to develop colon, pancreatic, and other digestive cancers than Boomers were. Making sure you get enough fiber, which specifically can lower your risk of these, is smart. it’s such a ridiculous thing for you to choose to mock. |
I had the same issue while taking Wegovy (and not even a high dose — never got past 1 mg). Even with daily chia seeds, berries, oats, nuts, veggies, etc. I struggled a lot. Has your approach actually worked? |
Lol. The food companies absolutely love you! |
Agree, I eat tons of fruit. I don’t worry about the sugar. I’m fairly active and don’t sit around much. Glucose has always been in normal range and weight has always been in healthy bmi range. As long as you have a fully functioning pancreas, your body can handle fruit, no problem. |
DP, but this is a really dumb statement. Not a lot of "food companies" heavily marketing beans and fresh produce, which are your best sources for fiber. |
Oatmeal, popcorn, apples, green leafy veggies……. |
Hard to picture eating 'a lot' of vegetables and whole grains and only getting 12g of fiber? What are the vegetables and whole grains that you consume? Here is a resource with free downloadable charts that list foods by fiber content - it is important to focus on the highest fiber foods that you can enjoy/tolerate, rather than using up your calories on lower fiber options. https://thegeriatricdietitian.com/highest-fiber-food-chart/ |
