A welcome move. Changes to the Supreme Court are overdue.

Good. And he should expand it to match the number of circuits. He won't do the latter b/c dems are wusses. But the other things are a good start. Should have been done decades ago.

This is a good move, if they’re weighing in on cultural issues they should have term limits. They’ve made the SCOTUS political.

SCOTUS was left leaning for decades and no one thought to do this. Now these psychotic demonrats who openly weaponize the legal system are going to poison the highest court in the land.

FINALLY

I have to say, all the energy the WH is showing now for various things - where's this been for the last year?

Better now than never. It's about time we faced the structural problems in the Sup Ct and did something about them. I think term limits will be a great advance in so many different ways - and no, not just for Democrats.

Reality is “left-leaning” so that probably explains your confusion.

There has not been a democratic majority on SCOTUS since 1969. You guys just decided a bunch of the republicans on the court were actually lefties because they didn’t vote lockstep for the hard right.

Sorry when did the “liberal” Supreme Court ever take a hypothetical case like they did with the Christian cake maker who doesn’t like gay people?

Yes, how dare SCOTUS tell the president he doesn't have the authority to forgive student debt because all spending bills originate in the House.

The nerve of them!

The president can just say it is an official act and do it anyhow.

Mandatory retirement at age 75. Also needs to go back to 2/3 of Senate to confirm.

What happened to judges serve for life, in the Constitution?

Average lifespan when Constitution was written was 45.

The only thing I might get behind is an age limit, like age 86 or so. As for ethics regulations, nothing wrong with one designed and enforced by the courts but otherwise it’s an institution into our system of checks and balances and sure to be used unevenly and against justices with less popular opinions.

No ethics code? Really? That means that they are not insulated from politics. We are looking at some major conflicts of interest here.

It’s already poisoned. Haven’t you been paying attention?
