President Biden is finalizing plans to endorse major changes to the Supreme Court in the coming weeks, including proposals for legislation to establish term limits for the justices and an enforceable ethics code
A welcome move. Changes to the Supreme Court are overdue. https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/2024/07/16/biden-supreme-court-reforms/ |
| Good. It needs to happen. And needed to happen before they killed roe, killed regulations, and gave Presidents absolute immunity. But better late than never…. |
|
| Never will happen. |
| Good. Since you are for it, Trump should adopt this policy when he wins. And watch all you cry and moan and whine some more . Liberal tears are the best |
| Waiting to hear from our conservative friends why this is a bad idea. |
Like Obama before him, Biden has made the mistake of thinking that Republicans in Congress and on the court are good people who love America. They’ve proven that that’s not so. |
| This smacks of desperation. The final flailing of a man who needs to go, who knows his time is at an end but isn't quite ready to admit it yet. |
It's a bad idea because it's just a power play by the left. Only now, after decades of a far-left Supreme Court (and then a milquetoast Court that simply accepted all of the leftist dictates from the far-left Court), when there is a right-leaning Supreme Court, now suddenly the left wants to change the rules. Screw that. We see you. We aren't playing that game. You'll suck it up and deal with a right-wing court for decades. |

You don’t think ethics reforms are needed? |
I don't think this is the time or way to do it. |
|
Can we set term limits for all elected politicians and political appointees?
Why just SCOTUS? |
| Probably not constitutional. |
I’d be for this. - Republican |
