Biden planning changes to the Supreme Court

Does anyone here think Biden wrote or could even comprehend one word of the op-ed in the Washington Post?

Yes, of course I do. But then again I'm not having Russian propaganda spooned into the mushy cavity where my brain used to be, so I've got that going for me.

Biden has been a high level statesman for half a century. He has, in one term, accomplished more than most presidents do in two. He has a genius political and strategic mind and while, yes, he is clearly experiencing some moderate level of cognitive decline, has shown no actual evidence of being unable to create or comprehend topics like the op-ed.

Bowing out was a brave and prudent choice, and while I'd be somewhat concerned about his ability to do his job at the end of a second term, anyone who truly believes that Biden currently couldn't do something as relatively simple as pen an op-ed is completely delusional. Stop drinking the Fox News flavor-aid. Seek information outside of the selectively edited videos and biased commentary you're being fed by right-wing media. Maybe, just maybe, if you work at it you can deprogram yourself and rejoin intelligent society.

Why just SCOTUS?

After what we've witness over the past 8 years, I think most people would support the term limits and age limits throughout Federal Government.

Running on an ethical and independent Supreme Court is hard to argue with.

It is not about stacking the court, it is about making the court reflect elected leaders in a non random fashion that does not depend on the judges’ willingness to retire.

Let the voters speak through their votes.

You know who is weird enough to argue against an ethical and independent Supreme Court?

MAGA-nuts!

Yeah, and when will Congress outlaw insider trading that has made its members so wealthy (see e.g., Nancy Pelosi).

If you are so adamant about rooting out corruption, why did your peeps crush this subpoena?

Ooooh. Dayum!!! You got me! Jared Kushner subpoena quashed vs Congress’ insider trading for decades.

So Pelosi's 10 million that harmed no one is somehow worse than Kushner selling secrets for 2 billion?

Right wing thinking at its finest!

Are they going to put term limits for Congress and Senate too?

Otherwise, this is a political move because the Dems know they’re going to lose and another 4 years of Republican leadership is coming

Senators and representatives have to stand for reelection. Judges don’t.

Democrats can’t win without cheating.

More undisclosed trips

The dems do not have the votes on the judiciary committee to do anything. “Moderate” Dems have been bought off. Maybe the Dems will win the senate and do something….oh wait.

Biden is firmly against reforming the Supreme Court, doing away with the filibuster, etc. Remember how Biden drew red lines in Gaza and then looked away when Israel destroyed Rafah? It does not matter what Biden says watch was he does. I bet he is actively working against reform right now.

Seems like the American public is on board with this

Newsflash, most CEOs and politicians DO NOT write their own stuff. No time. That's perfectly fine.

I don't think he wants to reform the SC. I think he feels forced to do it b/c they won't govern themselves.

Because the power drunk “conservatives” (can we call them that when they’re actively trying to blow up our institutions?) have decided that the Constitution and the rule of law don’t mean anything.
