In your circle how old are the oldest parents

The typical DCUM mom doesn’t associate with the “average” mom, though, and pretends that her rarified social circle is actually the whole world.

Do you personally know them? They could be grandparents who have custody or adopted the nine year old.

I suspect other than that family, we are the oldest of our younger kids’ classmates parents, but not by much. Many right around 40.

For our older kid, it’s more varied. Parents whose younger kid is 7 tend to be around our age or older.

I’m 45 with a 6 year old first grader. I’m almost certain I am the oldest mom in her grade. Most of her classmates seem to have younger siblings while my oldest is 14.

I’m one of the younger moms for my high school freshman at 45 and one of the oldest for my 1st grader.

I have an 11 year old gap between oldest and youngest. I was ten years younger than most friends with first child. I’m ten - fifteen years older with my last child.

You are not making a strong case for younger parents with your poor reading comprehension skills.

I’m 50 with a 5-year old.

54/56. They have a 5 year old and two kids in their early 20s. We are 36 and have a 5 year old, 2 year old, and 6 month old. I can’t imagine being that old.

When I was 47 my kids were 25, 21, 19 and 16. The 16 year old was a breeze because we’d seen it all lol

Yes we do. Before we got to know them we thought they were the grandparents.

I gotta tell you, I have no idea how old any of my kids’ classmates’ parents are. I couldn’t even guess. What are y’all doing, taking a poll?

Didn’t read all the replies but I know a couple who had 2 IVF kids at 50ish. The mom was very open about it and told us all about it herself. Donor eggs I assume. The mom definitely does not look 50 either…looks 40.

Beyond that I know tons who had their kids in early 40s. Mostly fertility treatments but not all.

Obviously no one goes around talking about their age but I find it comes up in conversation after some time (references to - or jokes about- years in high school or college etc). Most people seem pretty open about it.

I hope I didn’t write this twice.

My mother helped my oldest on a family tree project. The posters were all hung up in the classroom for everyone to look at. Everyone’s names and DOB. My mother put my wrong date of birth on it making me look like a teen mom. She also put the British flag on her Canadian side of the family tree. So embarrassing. Anyway everyone’s dates of birth were on the posters. They were all about ten years older than me.
