In your circle how old are the oldest parents

I'm 39, DH is 60, kids are 15, 12, and 8.

My kids are in 9th, 6th, and 3rd grades and I was born in 1981.

I know someone with 5th graders who told me she voted for Reagan!

I’m 44 with a 13 and 8 (almost 9) year old so I’m basically you in the future! Lol it seems like I’m older with the parents of my younger ones friends but younger with the oldest kids parent circle. Doesn’t really matter too much..

we have late 70s dads in our NYC private - even at pre-k they were that old.

Most of our group started about 7 years ago and are leaving babies and toddlers behind.

Depends. In wealthier circles "young" moms are having their first at 35 and many moms are having babies at mid 40s or even 50.
That skews downward significantly in less wealthy circles.

In the wealthy circles I know, the moms had their kids in their 20s as they didn't have to delay due to worries about a career they didn't have because their husbands were doing quite well. And yes, the husbands were also around the same age.
If both parents have to work and delay due to career - I'm not sure that's wealthy. It's high earner, but wealthy means one doesn't worry about earning enough.

I hope he makes a LOT of money.

I started at 24 and am now facing secondary infertility at 38 so will be 39 or 40 at best if I ever have another child. 10 years ago the older parents were 36/37. I met one Mom in her mid 40s with a kindergartener oops baby and she was the oldest. Ironic that I will be older than all of them if it ever happens.

We have one infant and in our circle everyone is 30+. We are 33 and we have friends who have an infant a few months older than ours and Mom is 42 and Dad is 55. So, they’d be the oldest with infants.

Well, you are not the norm in private DC area schools. (meaning money to pay for tuition). First child at 37. second at 41. Everyone else (all professional women and men) were in my cohort, but I realize that is not true for public.

We have those in DC privates too. I've been to too many Dh funerals.

There's such a wide span of ages in my area. I'm 54, my kids are in their late twenties, and I'm retiring from teaching this spring. One of my best friends is in her mid fifties and has a kid in 8th grade.

In Arlington the neighborhood moms call me the young one for having my kids at 33 and 35. They were all having kids 38-44.

You must be at a cheap private. Wealthy women who marry well have babies much…much… younger than 37.

I actually left the new moms group (in person) that I joined when I had my first because the moms were all 10+ years older and so cliquey/left me out of everything. Then for the last class of the session the moderate asked me to come speak because I'm a postpartum doula, certified pediatric sleep consultant, volunteer lactation support, certified baby wearing educator, and CPST. All of a sudden everyone wanted to be my friend- shocker!

You can get a certification for baby wearing? Women have been wearing babies for thousands of years. It's not rocket science.
