Nope. Elder financial abuse and romance scams are real. You need to be plugged in and weighing in on financial decisions of your aging parents.

My dad has been with the women he cheated on my mom with. My Mom has just been gone a year. Now her daughters are at my dad's home. I think he is their father He has lied to use all these years

My then-69 yo MIL had been widowed 16 years when she remarried. My husband had a hard time accepting she was engaged when she started wearing a diamond ring.

Nonetheless, everyone rejoiced at their wedding and they enjoyed only 6 years of marriage before he died. His kids were always lovely to my MIL.

It all worked out. I think there was a prenup.

After my own then-85 yo mom moved into assisted living, she had a boyfriend. I was surprised but not bothered at all.
