The townhouses near the golf courses are smaller so they're going for $500-$600K. The ones off of Idylwood, also zoned to Shrevewood, are going for $650-$750, and the ones near Marshall High School are going for $700-$800K (zoned to Lemon Road). All of these were selling for around the same price 10+ years ago. |
We saw all four of those houses. I would classify them as dumps - they were bought by people who are going to spend $200K to renovate them. |
But they didn’t have to renovate then the second they moved in. If you bought that split level and spent 200k, you’d have a sfh in McLean for one million. Which is fabulous! |
| Oakton off chainbridge has some |
That is not McLean, it's Falls Church/Fairfax County and while it is zoned to McLean High School, OP has to get her kid through a Title I elementary school and all of its issues first. |
| What about this neighborhood, seems to have several for sale a year none now but location looks good |
This looks like a great option. Although OP was a little snotty about townhomes in their OP ... |
| We could not find anything in the 700s in McLean/Vienna/Oakton/22043 before Covid. Unless a tiny family room with no basement or musty smell was OK. |
+1 |
I’m glad you aren’t critiquing my house! |
You’d hear Route 66 all day and night. |
Did you pay $850K for it? |

| That’s pretty far! I just checked and Google maps says it’s 28 min now. Assume much worse during rush hour. But that’s a lot of house for the money. |
