I wish the Muslim hadn't jumped on to proselytize because there's so much that can be said about how Jesus in the NT and the Quran are NOT the same people. It's hard to let the simple "we're the same it's just that you guys got it wrong" pass without comment.

For one thing, the Quran's Jesus endorses that book's general position against nonbelievers, Christians and Jews. Including violence, which is something the NT Jesus never endorses.

Quran (9:29): “Fight against Christians and Jews until they pay the tribute readily, being brought low.”

Quran (5:51): “Don’t take Jews or Christians for friends. If you do, then Allah will consider you to be one of them.”

Quran (2:65-66): “Christians and Jews must believe what Allah has revealed to Muhammad or Allah will disfigure their faces or turn them into apes, as he did the Sabbath-breakers.”

Quran (5:51): “O you who believe! do not take the Jews and the Christians for friends; they are friends of each other; and whoever amongst you takes them for a friend, then surely he is one of them; surely Allah does not guide the unjust people.”

Quran (9:30): "And the Jews say: Ezra is the son of Allah; and the Christians say: The Messiah is the son of Allah; these are the words of their mouths; they imitate the saying of those who disbelieved before; may Allah destroy them; how they are turned away!"

I could quite a bunch of crazy stuff from the Bible as well.

Religions were created by man.

But you can't post violent stuff against nonbelievers from the gospels, in fact the best you're going to do is "turn the other cheek." Too bad you're so desperate to fight religion in general that you're unable to follow simple points.

But we could post Bible verse about acts of violence against women.

How have you dealt with spiritual lapses? Do you have any advice for re-connecting with God?

OP, I'm sorry this happened to you. It also happened to me. We used to attend services every week before the pandemic. Even though services resumed in person pretty quickly (especially compared to other places), I found that the masking and distancing regulations (which were necessary for health and safety) made the communal aspect of the service much less enjoyable (i.e. coming together, but staying apart from each other is not really spiritually uplifting, but instead just highlighted for me everything that was different, even in the same space praying the same words). My spiritual needs also changed during Covid, partly because Covid itself changed me and partly because my kids have grown up.

Partly, I hoped that going back regularly would get me back in the swing of things, but it hasn't. I don't really have any answers for you, but know that you're not alone!

I suspect that this situation is not unusual - and not just with church. A lot has changed since COVID, including people's feeling about getting out in the world.

Yep.

You'd think OP would post again if they weren't an atheist troll. Or maybe they are busy, or afraid to post given how this thread has shifted, with multiple Christians accusing them of being a troll.

Op has not posted again.

op has not explained why they attended a church that closed during the pandemic but now can’t find a church to attend.

Op? Where are you?

I take the OP's post at face value. They said they became disconnected during the pandemic and now have struggled to reignite their faith - and haven't found a church that does that for them. What's so difficult to believe about this? Seems about right to me.

because if op posted asking for help and opinions and advice- why would they disapear?

Because DCUM is full of raging psychos?

God speaks to different people or through many different avenues.

Also you need to separate religion from god.

The man asked, why did we have to be quiet? St. Peter says oh that’s the Catholics section they think they are the only ones here. Don’t ruin it for them..

Again, not in the New Testament.

This thread immediately became a sh!t show. Reporting.

Only when someone said OP. Could not possibly be Buddhist.

There is no reason why OP could not go in that direction.

You cry “shit show” when the answer is anything other that exactly what you believe.

Attacking Christianity and Christians by obsessively posting fake scenarios in a religion forum shouldn’t be a personality, yet here you are.

It’s not an attack to tell Christians to look in to Buddhism, I know many nuns and priest who study Buddhism.

DP. Yes, Christians study Buddhism and some Buddhists (like Thich Nhat Hang) look into Christianity.

You're so dishonest. The issue is when some of you post about how all religion is man-made, fake, etc. As you know.

It’s not a claim, religion is created by man.

Name a religion not created by man.

How did you come to that conclusion?

All the books, rules, writing, teaching are made by man. Can you name one that was not.

It can be inspired by god. I also think art is inspired by god.

So what’s your evidence that all religion is man made?

let me explain it like you’re in kindergarten.

The sun is made by god, a car is made by man.

Nature is made by god’s , books are made by man.

Morality is made by god, rules and regulations (religion) are made by man.

pp, you refuse to answer if you believe in a God or gods, but keep explaining that a God or gods made everything.

Is that correct?

Why are you ducking this question?

I said I believe in 1 god.

Allah and God are the same entity.

So why does the koran say that the people who believe Jesus is the Son of God are going to be sent to burn in hell for eternity?

Why do Catholics say Jews who are not baptized are going to be sent to burn in hell for eternity?

I am not Catholic, have to ask them.

+1

ridiculous people who claim to know more than everyone else, but really don’t know anything at all.

op has never replied to their original comment ✅

comments about God not existing ✅

comments about God and Allah being the same ✅

comment about God and “free will” from an atheist who doesn’t even believe in God ✅

Troll post 101 is here for the weekend.

Because DCUM is full of raging psychos?

that post fake threads so
they can argue about a God they don’t believe in

Maybe it was a fake thread, but I think people gave really great ideas for people who are losing faith. Especially the one about Buddhism.
