Dh took 7 yo to get an insane haircut

I think it’s a shame that people who have no idea how to cut hair has taken the hair industry over. So many people who have no idea how to cut or color. Hostile takeover of the industry indeed. I don’t know what beauty schools they went to.
I’ve had ok luck with people from France, Turkey, and Eastern Europe, so apparently their schools are better?

What's an affront to real cancer patients is you comparing your kids buzz cut to them. Get a grip!

My (now former) SIL used to do something similar with my nephew but she shaved his head. Not in a cute summer buzzcut way, but in a "he looks ill, is he ok" way. He was basically bald. It was awful. I don't know if it was some sort of power play or what, but his school photos all through elementary school make him look sickly.

Honestly I think what your SIL did is some sort of mental illness.
My late mother who was mentally ill would not let me grow my hair, I would get short boy haircuts until I was maybe 10? (I am female)
Puzzles me to this day why she did it.
Claimed it was more practical? Maybe she was indeed clueless but hard to tell
