Dh took 7 yo to get an insane haircut

Dh took 7 yo to get his haircut and - hard to even explain it - but it looks completely insane. Not like - a well done but radical look. Like a horribly executed weird cut that you might imagine he gave himself. am I allowed to be mad? I am so mad

It's just hair. It'll grow back.

Is this what the kid wanted? Is he happy? You need to unclench. This is just hair - not a tattoo. Hair grows back. The goal is for your son to like how he looks.

What does the 7 yo think?

And while I would be mad inside, I’d do everything I could to ignore those feelings and laugh it off. What would you get out of being mad outwardly? Nothing good. It’s hair. It will grow back and be a good story.

Who are you mad at? The barber?

Op - what happened was he basically did not cut the top (long and wavy and thick) but buzzed the sides. But however you are imagining that might look cool - it looks completely insane. It could be easily fixed but now 7 yo likes it. It’s not a style it’s like a sort of reverse mullet

It’s just hair.

I took my kid to hair cuttery recently and it honestly seemed like the guy had never cut hair before. It’s really bad. I don’t care, it’ll grow back.

Is your son about to be a ring bearer soon? If not, so what...

Op - kind of but imagine someone has bangs but they cut them into just like a rectangle on his forehead. Like if you cut an a4 piece of paper in half vertically and then laid it on top of your head.

I took my 3 yo DD to hair cuttery once and the woman was a disaster. Ended up giving her a mushroom cap of frizz. It was not remotely cute. I remember my DH being mad at me over it and thinking that was incredibly unfair and stupid. It grew back and we laugh about it now.

Mad at dh - not bc it’s too short - but bc it is a viral level of nuts and he let him leave the barber with it and he now likes it so we can do nothing

The styles for middle school and high school are atrocious right now.

My kids had great haircuts for their hair type until about 2 years ago (now high school). Now they have that unstructured moppy mess going every which way and 1/2 the class has a version of a mullet.
