Yes,they immigrated here in the 1970s and have their naturalization papers. My dad even still has his flag. My wife has her naturalization certificate and flag too. My family obeyed the law. |
Ah. There’s the loophole. |
The problem with that is that the people cheating are the wealthiest and the IRS doesn’t go after them because they can afford attorneys who drag it out. The “little people” who pay their taxes are more likely to get audited and punished for small dollar mistakes than a wealthy person intentionally hiding millions. |
That would be a complete cluster and have terrible consequences. |
So why do you think Republicans have not done any of these when in power? |
And possibly gun safety laws given the escalating mass shootings and gun violence .. |
This may shock you, but I actually do agree with the Democratic talking point that greedy business owners who want to pay below fair wages for fair labor are a big part of the problem. YES, please require E-verify for all employers. At the same time, however, Democrats have no leg to stand on when they do crap like give driver's licenses to undocumented immigrants, create sanctuary cities, kowtow to the needs of undocumented kids in schools and teach them in their language, and offer them healthcare. It just encourages lawlessness and people to keep on coming. Life needs to be impossible/unlivable for all person who enter illegally. No one will come if life is impossible. All pols in Congress and at state and local levels are responsible for this fiasco. Implement the ideas on that list and watch illegal immigration plummet to zero. No one wants to move to the US of they can't legally rent an apartment and cannot turn on the electric. |
Not a loophole. We just decided legally as a country to put restrictions on the types of people that can come here. |
Because they don't actually want to control the border. It would hurt their bottom line. It would also eliminate another dogwhistle they can use to rile up the base. It's kind of like abortion. |
Millions of them work here, propping up hundreds of thousands of businesses. They work in meat packing, farming, construction, restaurants and many other sectors. They pay their bills. They live peacefully. WHY do we not want to just give them work visas? That would eliminate a huge amount of the problems at the border and in enforcement, it would eliminate massive backlogs of hearings, and would allow CBP to actually focus on securing the border and focus on going after just the ones who AREN'T living here peacefully, like the MS-13 and cartel members, and so on. Unemployment is at a historic low, we haven't seen since the 1960s, so it wouldn't harm American workers. Visas would be tied to demand, with American citizens given right of first refusal for any job filled by visa. WHY do we not do any common sense things like this? |
Temporary work visas are fine. The point is that it is legal entry. |
Or, it is treating human beings as human beings and giving people a chance at success. I mean, is it the kids fault their parents brought them? Should they be shit out of a minimum education because of it? Haven't we seen what happens when a society doesn't treat all of its members with healtcare (hint, we all get sick and pass germs and make each other sick or sicker) - do you just want humans dying in the streets? |
and it started with open boarders for certain types of europeans but not others, and certainly not asians or africans |
| It is hard to understand why immigration would be a single issue topic when there are things like sedition, abortion and guns that are more of a threat to our society. |
|
So everyone here would be okay if all the illegal immigrants come here and GW was over run…like what is happening to hospitals in Mesa, AZ and El Paso.
Get out of your bubble and look at the crisis abs say just how well Biden is doing! |
