OP you be shocked how little is background checked in private.
For instance my J1 I am kicking it up this week. Goal is to pump it up to 4-6 hours a day work. Was doing 1-3 when had two jobs. You think I have no references. But prior Head of Risk, Head of FinCrime, Head of HR, CEO, Head of compliance, CFO all loved me. To be honest they never saw my work product. They were team in placed I joined. They all quit prior to last spring when I stopped working. So I can get great references. And time is a funny thing. I had terrible people I worked with. In fact one women I fired. Years later I gave then glowing references. Also when fired everyone fired or quit pissed off will recommend you. And people for some odd reason will hire some with a great job title or blue chip company over someone way better from an unknown company. I have only 4 jobs on resume. My four either longest or best title. I removed other jobs from resume and LinkedIn. Since all my background reports are frozen and LinkedIn shut down employers in background gets sent to those four employers where I give full info to verify. It is not govt. But why should it disclose Everything? You are hiring based on what I put in resume. . I really think my boss may have known something. But he scapegoated me knowing I canโt fight back. I staffed his dept. only fatal move was on his end I upload at end. Most of my work in progress was on my laptop or printouts or I got it and never got edited or mixed in email meeting info. He should have gave me two weeks to fix it up. I also hired staff as recently as three weeks ago. Who is training them? Iโm am glad he booted me cold Turkey personally. But really stupid. He was tricky he gave me a raise three weeks ago. Threw me off guard in the canning. I got a PE place with a company fresh out of bankruptcy with me as final 2 in interview process. Looks up my alley complete train wreck, no sign on, no job security, bad rep perfect for next J2 wish me luck. I think it I bust but at old job I can finish up 80 percent of 2023 work by July. Maybe make it to 1-1-2024 vesting! |
| You sound like a complete nut and your writing leaves a lot to be desired. That's why they fired you and they don't care about whatever "work" needs "fixed up." They'd rather have you gone so they can get the work done correctly without having to have someone else go in and redo everything. |
They never saw my work. I never really did any! The new boss was a control freak. I am a chill boss. He seemed to think I should manage a department, do performance reviews, budgets, hiring and firing, review all work by staff and attend a million status and update meeting while doing 40 hours a week worth of my own work. He also kept interupting my staff. They also were falling behind due to his silly meetings and stuff. He then blamed me my staff was behind scheule when he keeps adding ad hoc projects. It is not on my resume anyhow. So does not exist and my old job has a better title anyhow. I have a job in pipeline to start a whole new departent from scratch for a PE firm at a major company. If I get it I will take all my staff from the old job with me. Once I am gone they have no buffer my old boss will drive them nuts instead of me. |
| I don't understand how your writing is so bad when English is your first language and you've been employed for so long. Does your work writing look like your DCUM writing? |
Just as bad or worse. I try not to write things. Lately I do emojis. This might shock people but I counted on my J1 I sent under 5 work emails in the last year. I stick on slack where typos and emojis rule. using periods for instance not a thing on slack. I Also do chat or Google meet. Lately I started using transcribe function to do meeting minutes of necessary. Funny when I used to present at Board level I used big font. Just a few bullets. I cant read that well and donโt like details. I recall I once did a fascinating lunch speaking gig. I wove together stories and stuff. I literally had a few bullets in huge font. Afterwards I was talking two Asian attendees who were here on rotation. Both commented how amazing it was and impressive no notes. But then added I was trying to take notes but you did not really say anything on subject. For example I did a report for Jaime Dimon at JP Morgan and I worked with him briefly. Mention Jaimie and opens wormhole as I have great stories of stuff he did. Throw in Financial crisis and I go down occupy Wall Street and my visits to SEC. My speech very interesting but no hard facts. I have done 60-90 board presentations, 200-300 CEO presentions, spoke at dozens of conferences up to 800 people and script always goes the same. A story, icebreaker, joke, a few fun facts, how was your weekend, how did your team do, some name dropping. The CFO of American Express along with Treasuer of McDonalds was on my one board and they hear me present five times a year. I think they knew what I was doing. The CFO of American Express told me I am the most entertaining presenter and you never know what will come out of my month. I think he almost spit up his drink when treasurer of McDonaldโs asked me some question about accruals or something. I had no clue so I said you mean similar to how McDonalds accrued for the lawsuit over hot coffee at the drive through? He went off on that topic and everyone jumped on him. I never answered. You go unprepared with a high ass deck a few hundred times you can wing it. Tomorrow got an interview at some place to replace J2 not even going to prepare. It is remote. Maybe I will tell my story how I worked with Chip Carter who told me some great Billy Carter stories or perhaps how I once interviewed for CIA. I am certainly not talking about actual job! That is boring. I think I once threw in when I met the Princess of Japan in an interview. I only gave half the story so they had to hire me to hear the rest |
| ๐๐๐ great troll |
Thanks I think!! Now back to signing my severance letter and getting ready Interview. I got a CEO update J1 at 4pm but I wing those. Maybe at 355 pm will prepare |
