The kids are full of rage - younger and younger.

da fuq?

There is NO reason to be this full of rage at any age, let alone 6.

Says a privileged person who always has food and shelter, never experienced abuse, has never been raped as a small child . . . There are plenty of kids who are failed by adults and the system.

Amazing how this "rage" never seems to occur in girls who have been abused, bullied, experienced trauma, etc. It's not an experience thing, and it has everything to do with awry biology.
the first school shooter was in 1979 and was a girl

One girl out of how many boy shooters???

Has the governor issued a statement about this? I cannot find anything.

Yep, and almost every school shooter since then has been a girl.

Oh wait, no.

Well definitely most school shooters have been girls.

Oh wait, no.

A lot of school shooters have been girls.

Oh wait, no.

Some school shooters have been girls.

Hardly.

98% of them are males. Fact.

Oh but like 2-3 in all of history have had XX chromosomes so yeah good for you for bringing up this absurd detail from 1979.

School violence has nothing to do with childhood experience, having been bullied, family home life, etc. Because OVERWHELMINGLY this is a male problem, and female students who experience the same just don't cause this kind of carnage.

Perhaps find out who exactly was the primary “caregiver” for the boy, and then come back.

And if you want to believe a child’s environment has nothing to do with the development of inner rage, you are beyond hope.

I’m at the point where I feel children and teens who shoot people must go through intensive therapy AND their parents serve time. Parents need to be held accountable!

This was just posted on Reddit. Unfortunately none of it comes as a surprise:

The kid in question was transferred from another school last year for supposedly strangling his teacher (in kindergarten). Since the first day of school he has had issues where hes been allowed to run rampent in the school. It got to the point where he was in trouble so often that his mom would have to walk him to the room each morning.
The day it happened the principal and them were notified that he had brought a gun to school numerous times and rumors spread about the same. They didnt do a thing about it. They said it was likely just a toy. No search, no pulling him out, nothing.
After the shooting happened a staff member called the cops because one of the other students recognized it as a gun shot. The lockdown didnt happen until well after the call had been placed. During the lockdown there wasnt a single message sent to all staff via email or text, most were left stranded in their rooms hiding with the kids for 45+ min. Its not clear to me how it happened but another member of staff was able to prevent the kid from doing anything further.
During the debriefing after no information was given about the teacher's condition or exacts about the situation. The school board and all the admins did show up for the photo op and show of support tho.
The teacher is doing decently enough for everything considered and the investigation is underway.
Huge shoutout to the Newport News PD, they showed up and responded in what seemed like record time and with everyone in the department (as well as a few other agencies).
I can verify my identity if need be but I am the spouse of an employee that was there. This was posted on a throwaway account on a vpn to prevent getting doxxed or anything from the district or anyone else.

No it wasn’t. You’re wrong on both accounts. The first recorded incident goes all the way back to the 1800s. A male professor at the University of Virginia was shot by a male student and died 3 days later. There’s literally a listed table on Wikipedia that lays out all of the school shooting incidents with dates, locations, and details.

Nothing in the constitution to say that there can’t be really harsh consequences when someone’s weapons are used in a crime.

I think that’s the first step towards gun control.
too bad Dems are lowering penalties for gun crimes and often drop charges all together

too bad Rs want to allow anyone to carry a gun

No. "Rs" don't want felons to carry a gun. "Ds" are apparently just fine with it.

Now we know you’re lying. R’s are against gun restrictions and background checks. A background check would reveal if someone was a felon and you’re trying to say R’s don’t want felons to carry a gun? Spare us from your bull.

So this kid is a sociopath.

I know that some people think that’s impossible- but I assure you, some people are born this way.

Some of them become high functioning sociopaths. But other- really can’t be saved.

Why we keep forcing our public schools to take them is beyond me. Teachers are not paid enough for this.

Intensive mental health care for young children is nearly impossible. The focus is on keeping a kid in the home, not sending them away for treatment. People that have the means to private have some options. People that are avg HHI can’t afford private pay. Often they can’t hire an atty to fight the school system for an IEP that will pay for residential.

The parents of this child should be held accountable. They knew his history of aggression. There should not have been a gun in their home. Full stop. Don’t we hold parents that allow underage drinking accountable?

Every time a school shooting occurs, I hope something will change. And every time nothing does. I realize that is the definition of insanity but I just can’t give up hope that we as a country will get our act together.
