This country? Same old same old. Today I learned that you don’t need a permit to carry a gun in many states. No permit — so none of the requirements, such as training, that often go along with having a permit. https://www.huffpost.com/entry/constitutional...beeee4b0d2fe765111df |
I would bet every penny I have that at least 2 of the following 3 are true in this case:
- the teacher had gone to admin about this kid multiple times - admin told the teacher to handle it and suggested a bunch of "interventions" that are not doable when you have 25 other 6-7 year olds in a classroom - the parents were not receptive to suggestions from the teacher or school |
There are residential treatment facilities. some are better than others. |
100%. I’m willing to be it was all 3. Would also assume this classroom has been cleared multiple times |
Probably foster care and intensive psych services. His parents are almost certainly to blame because they’d likely where he got the gun. 6 is too young to have real mens rea for a crime like this. |
Remove the child from his/her parents permanently. That's a start in the right direction. Terminate all parental rights. |
US children. Falling behind in every subject except ... |
He told the class he was going to shoot her, that's what is being reported. He planned this in advance. |
Bet you anything the family member he got the gun from isn’t a legal gun owner |
That’s awful. Last year, there was a kid in my kid’s second grade class who had a lot of problems and at least once threatened to kill the teacher. |
How did he know how?? Disgusting. |
The kids are full of rage - younger and younger. |
In LCPS a kid drew a threatening picture of my neighbors kid (dying) with and the school did nothing bc it was a 3rd grader. Harmless they said. |
Um, screen time. They learned an awful lot about sex and violence home alone during lockdowns. |
Believe them when they show you how they care nothing about student safety. |
