My HS principal was out all last week due to testing positive for covid. It was hush hush. Even staff weren’t told.
MCPS will bury any specific school Covid news. It doesn’t fit their narrative that everything is normal and schools are doing great! |
Do they normally broadcast other staff illnesses? That would be weird. |
You realize other viral infections can still be contagious after you feel better, don’t you? But, like covid, the risk of transmission is significantly reduced at that point, so we’ve collectively agreed that it isn’t worth it to continue isolating for common illnesses under those circumstances. There's no reason to treat covid differently, particularly when its about as serious in vaccinated people as the flu is. How long have you historically isolated for the flu after a fever subsided? |
Grow up. |
As if Bocce and the kid's museum weren't enough!!! OMG OMG rotten to the core you say! |
Wait, what? Do you expect MCPS to send out a mass email whenever a principal has a cold or the flu? Why would everyone need to know when a principal is sick. People have lost their minds. It is none of anyone’s business if the principal takes a day off because he/she has Covid, menstrual cramps or a sprained ankle. Parents and staff are not entitled to that info. |
Why would anyone not want to self-report? That is so inconsiderate and, frankly, kinda paranoid. |
It’s private medical information. The school can’t share it with anyone. The individual can, if they want to, but they’re not required to. Even when the school system was notifying and quarantining close contacts, they never specified who the positive individuals were. |
