+1 It's only going to get harder. I feel incredibly grateful that my DC was accepted! |

What's the vibe that they don't like? |
William and Mary has significantly higher stats, though. |
This has been mentioned her many times, and hotly contested by W&M fans. The vibe to my kids was somewhat nerdy, try hards, serious students but quirky and friendly. When we visited everyone looked very stressed and hardly any smiles. My DS liked it but not as much as UVA so it was second choice. my DD hated it. |
You are just going to get someone's stereotypes |
|
I would not say “significantly.” |
| The vibe for WM is small liberal arts. Nothing wrong with that a lot of people enjoy it, but it tends to generate a strong reaction. Either love or hate rarely meh. |

OK, it is relative, but for the 75th percentile of 2022-23 entering class, W&M is 1520 SAT, 34 ACT, and 4.51 GPA. VT is 1400, 32, and 4.28. UVA, as a comparison, is 1520, 34, and 4.53. |
10 TJHSST 2022 graduates are attending VCU. My bet is most of those intend to be doctors. Only 7 are attending VT. I don't think you are correct that almost all TJ grads are all intending to study computer science. |
Virginia Tech admits by major, so stats and admission rates are all over the place. When you average the stats they are lower, but for some majors VT ihad a 20% acceptance rate and very high stats, while others are 80% with much lower stats. I think if VT didn’t admit by major their stats would be much higher and admit rate lower. There are very qualified candidates turned away each year due to the major they applied to. All 3 are amazing schools, that are a difficult admit. |
Do they publsh stats by major or school? |
these dumbasses will never realize that first gen is a whole lot of white kids. |
