- Ryse loaded protein powder in the flavor chocolate PB cup (I got this for her, and she says it's delicious)

- Lightening McQueen crocs
- Jordan 4s
- Jordan 1s
- New Balance 530s
- Uggs ulta minis

- Dior Lip Oil (cherry) - This seems to be a thing
- Sol de Janeiro Brazilian bum bum cream and body spray
- Laniege lip glowy balm
- Laneige lip sleeping mask
- Ariana grande eau de parfum

- Aerie crossover flare leggings
- Lululemon define jacket

basically my daughter's list minus the crocs. Where is everyone finding Jordans? They're impossible to find, especially the black and white ones. Why isn't Nike making more oft these things??

Have you tried Goat? That’s a popular site to buy Nikes.

Yes, have seen it pop up. Is this reputable, as in not a scam? I just don't understand why you can't buy these directly through Nike, like the AF1s.

+1 I love my sensible, non-materialistic teen girl so much. I’ve never even heard of most of these things.

Seriously. I’m so happy I have a nerdy bookworm who isn’t into name brands. She’s almost 13 and not on social media yet so maybe that’s part of it.

Do you want a medal???

My very accomplished teen wants Lululemon stuff and Uggs. Do you not remember wanting anything specific as a teen?

Same here. My parents bought me a Nintendo, which is the equivalent of some of these gifts now. In our house Christmas is a magical time, you get things you normally wouldn’t. We’re not getting these things all throughout the year.

Same. My Nintendo was my favorite gift ever! Another year, as a teen, I got Docs. Most years as a teen I got clothes, cosmetics, jewelry, books. Not much different than what my teenager wants herself. If we had Uggs, you bet I’d want them. We didn’t have social media, but we did have teen magazines and I poured over them..YM, Seventeen, Sassy, Cosmo (so much better than social media, but they also put popular products in front of teenagers).

It’s a crazy system. It is not a scam. I’ve bought multiple sneakers through them and have return them easily and gotten a credit (no refund). I used the refund to buy other sneakers. Downloading the App helps.

To add, it takes time to get the shoes so order soon.

SO many 13 year olds getting a ridiculous amount of makeup. Perhaps because in my country this is not a popular thing, but I find it very strange.

And make up refrigerator? This is the most American thing I've ever heard of.

DP. Wherever else would he keep his juice boxes if not a personal refrigerator? Where’s that poster from a few pages ago insisting that these spoiled, materialistic teens also do great things for the environment, lol.

Air pods
Athleta clothing
Silk pillow case
Hoodie from a sport team she likes
Random beauty products

She wants a Lululemon top but I just think that’s over the top.. Lol. Or should I go for it??

Is there really a price difference between Athleta and Lululemon that makes one appropriate and one over the top? Our DD loves Lululemon, but only has a top and two pairs of shorts.

My DD plays beach volleyball and there are girls that only wear Lululemon. Mine only has 2 shorts and two longline bra tanks. She conbines them with other brand top/shorts. Lululemon is so expensive!

A magenta cable knit sweater, Benetint and an AirPods cleaner.

These are all from her 8yo brother who got her in the “secret Santa” family gift exchange and needed help buying things.
Otherwise nothing. We are taking a huge family trip to Asia so that is the gift.

You all are so defensive. No medal needed. But since I’m not pulling in loads of money like most of DCUM, I stand by that I am thankful that my DD isn’t into expensive brands.

It's a huge part of it.

I grew up loving labels and we never had social media. We had magazines, commercials, and just looking at others in school and what was trendy. So pls stop on the social media

there will always be a reason some girls want trendy things and it is ok to normalize it. Guys are no different. 90% of them want Jordans

This is unhealthy materialism. Stop normalizing it.

But it is the social media these days, because kids don’t read magazines or watch commercials. Different medium but same idea.
