I think that's more common in the deep south and seems to be one way they get around desegregation. |
| I am from rural Virginia. Once you get outside of the the Nova, Richmond, and Virginia Beach/Norfolk area, there are few private schools, they are mostly of poor quality, and many were founded in response to desegregation. |
It would hold FCPS accountable. The PP cares nothing about what is best for children - especially children from needy families. PP simply regurgitates deceptions from the teacher’s unions, who do not represent your children’s interests. The local unions kept immunized teachers out of schools while your kids suffered in front of screens during the pandemic. The teachers unions protect bad teachers; they nearly withheld their endorsement of Clinton over a plan to require teacher competency checks. Look, I don’t need a voucher; I can afford private for my kids. I still support vouchers, as a remedy for failing public schools. Take a closer look at who opposes vouchers: it is the unions, who are addicted to the money they coerce from members. They insist on denying needy kids any way out of the failing schools they profit from. |
| I don't think Virginia has teachers' unions. |
Yea, we know there are really shitty right-wing racists/Christian nationalists in our state. I mean, those people will burn in Hell for all eternity but their vote counts as much as mine. At least there are fewer of them. |
They are. |
Just did, sweetie. Now you stop spewing BS Right Wing talking points. Oh, and you still aren't getting vouchers. |
Stop lying. |
Your "other options" are moving, homeschooling or paying for your own private. You're welcome. |
PP: it is you who keeps lying. You protect failing schools full of incompetent unionized teachers who can’t be fired, nor held accountable. The failing public schools you protect are condemning generation after generation of mostly Black and Latino kids to poverty and failure. In this way, you democrats really are the ultimate, bigoted, racists by defending failing public (but unionized) schools. No surprise there really: Democrats created the KKK and opposed the civil rights movement (look it up). Again: my own kids don’t need a voucher. |
This thread is about **Virginia**. Your irrational rants and propaganda are off-topic. |

A handful of districts have gained collective bargaining. FCPS is not one of them. Employees do not have to belong to a union. In FCPS it’s less than half. |
That was my first post. You said your school is failing. I’m just curious to know the data on which that is based, if you care to share. |
