Goulet vs Sriqui Ward 3 Board of Education Race

I hold Matt Yglesias in much higher esteem for being immediately able to class Foxhall NIMBY nonsense for what it is: https://twitter.com/mattyglesias/status/1584593908214136833

I also wonder about Goulet based on his cohort of supporters. One of them is the slumlord who was successfully sued by the city this year.

Other than Goulet supporting Finley's idea for the District acquiring the Whittle School (intelsat campus) and using it for a new middle school +/or high school, their policy differences appear minimal.

SBOE plays no role in a decision like this. None.

That's the thing about Goulet, he's running on a bunch of things the SBOE plays no role in. It's like he doesn't know what the SBOE does.

And he seems to have led the Foxhall NIMBYs into believing that from the SBOE, he will save "their" park from the ravages of a public elementary school being built beside their park!

He also says “if” when describing MacArthur High School, electing to simply tell the NIMBYs what they want to hear. The principal is being selected right now. The programming is being decided. There’s a budget and renovations are underway. Yet he still says “if” it happens.

Just a sad, sorry human being that doesn’t deserve to be anywhere near the levers office.

Right, the school is scheduled to open eight months after he takes office, during the current fiscal year so it's already funded.

The false implication that these schools are endorsing his campaign is deplorable. Who of his advisors thought this would be acceptable?

Are you equally outraged that Frumin was campaigning on school grounds March, Hearst, and Jamey this weekend? Probably not.

Campaigning on school grounds is not an infringement of the law. They are open and public spaces.

Using an organization logo without their permission - against the law.

Does Goulet send his kids to one of these schools?

No, they go to private school.

Goulet is going to really regret poking at some bears. He will soon be in the barrel and his lots-of-twitter-talking backers aren’t going to be good for nothing.
