Someone here loves to suggest this name though it's been explained multiple times why, "get over here, Marika!" will turn heads on the playground.

If the kid is American, Collette sounds like a caricature.


Hero is more commonly perceived as a word than a name. It would also seem self-aggrandizing.

Collette is just a name.

Flora is a very popular brand of margarine where I live, so that would be a no for me.

Cora, Dora, Lora, Mora, etc. are better than Flora and Nora.
