Increases of Covid cases at Lafayette ES

If you are vaccinated, its nothing more than a cold. COVID fear mongering IS over. Covid variant is blowing through so many of my friends now and their kids, my whole family had it a few weeks ago. Most colds are worse and last longer. If you are vaccinated, carry on.

+1. We determined that there are more risks with COVID theater precautions than returning to normal life. No children in DC have died from COVID, our whole family is vaccinated, some members of my family already had it (and possibly others who had asymptomatic cases before we tested), and it's way past time to give our kids their childhood back.

Yes, because performing surgery where you cut into the body and expose internal tissue is exactly the same as attending kindergarten.

But you said masks do nothing.

No one actually has said that "masks do nothing." I just re-read the whole thread.

I think there was somebody, but the post was probably reported and deleted.

Still says something to that effect on 2 pages.

Where? Where does someone say "masks don't work" full stop? No one does. People are talking about mask mandates but you can't wrap your skull around that.

When you were in elementary and middle school, what was language arts like for you? Did it not include drawing inferences? How did you get beyond reading comprehension that was more advanced than children’s books?

Equating the purpose of wearing a mask while performing a surgery with wearing a mask to prevent the spread of a highly contagious aerosolized respiratory virus just shows you have no clue what you are talking about. Aside from the difference in function, nobody ever said a correctly worn medical respirator doesn't work. The point is that school children have never done that and never will, nor should they.

I suppose the doctors who wear them are not as smart as you.

PP is trying to send zingers across...that are not zinging. That made no sense.

The PP is still missing the point. Nobody said that doctors wearing masks during surgery, or doctors wearing N95s to prevent Covid transmission isn't working, or that they shouldn't wear them. Kids in schools aren't surgeons though, nor can they wear a tightly sealing N95 all day long.

No, people did say that masks do nothing. It’s in plain site on this thread.

It's not. Please find the quote. You are inventing things for your own benefit. People have discussed mask *mandates* not having appreciable impacts.

When someone says it’s raining cats and dogs, do you literally think actually cats and dogs are falling from the sky?

See, I understand context. Which you get when you read entire sentences. I also understand metaphors. I understand that you can change context by excluding portions of the surrounding text, and I also understand that doing so is disingenuous.

NP. There certainly was a post that did say that mask did nothing. You can harp all you want at posters but it was there.

NP. I don't think you are in any position to talk down to the PP like that, when it is you is clearly unable to grasp the difference between testing a device in a lab setting and testing its application under real-world conditions. Some humility would suit you well.

If someone excluded something, it was not done by posters. You need to be angry at someone else. Go contact whomever deleted it.

Ok, so well-fitting, high-quality masks work to prevent transmission when worn correctly, and children don't wear well-fitting masks, often don't wear high-quality masks, and don't wear them consistently. Ergo, mandating kids to wear masks when they aren't going to do so in the ways that *make masks work* mean.....the mandates don't work to prevent transmission. And several high-quality studies have shown this.

I'm doubtful that the rise in cases at Lafayette has anything to do with masking or not.

Hell, we don't even know if there *is* an actual rise in cases at Lafayette.

DP. Your post makes no sense as a response to the PP.

It does, you just cannot think beyond literal. I did not expect you to be able to grasp it.

So when someone tries to explain to you why they think that mask mandates don't work, it is a figurative way of saying that masks don't work? Is that your argument?

Bless your heart. Literally.

Okay sock puppet. Practice what you preach would suit you well.

Nope, not a sock puppet. Just another poster who thinks you are missing the point, and your attempts to disguise that fact by prattling on about metaphors and context don't work.

Do you answer yourself too when talking to yourself?

That's how you always end arguments that you have lost. Thanks for admitting it.
