And several high-quality studies have shown this.

Why is this difficult to understand for some?

Weirdly, I think most everyone agrees on this?

There is no mandate. Move on!

+1. What are people arguing about that is not in effect?

Well there's this one person who is mad about something but won't say what. But otherwise there seems to be no argument. No one cares if kids want to wear masks, and everyone agrees that lifting the mask mandate didn't cause any further cases.

Seemingly, it’s you who keeps carrying this on. There is no mandate, move on.

I just don't like the strawman that people are complaining about a mandate. No one is. That's you, making that up.

It is not me. Knock it off with derailing this thread when there is no mandate to be mad about.

But I'm not derailing. It's the person saying that people are mad about a mandate (when no one is) that is derailing.

(It's fun that you are doing the thing you are accusing me of doing.)

Derailing.

Seemingly people want a mandate in order to be mad. Can anyone tell me the numbers at the school? I think it is highly unlikely that any school would implement a mandate now. It would draw too much push back from the community and school is nearly over.

Yes, because performing surgery where you cut into the body and expose internal tissue is exactly the same as attending kindergarten.

But you said masks do nothing.

No one actually has said that "masks do nothing." I just re-read the whole thread.

I think there was somebody, but the post was probably reported and deleted.

Still says something to that effect on 2 pages.

Where? Where does someone say "masks don't work" full stop? No one does. People are talking about mask mandates but you can't wrap your skull around that.

When you were in elementary and middle school, what was language arts like for you? Did it not include drawing inferences? How did you get beyond reading comprehension that was more advanced than children’s books?

NP. I don't think you are in any position to talk down to the PP like that, when it is you is clearly unable to grasp the difference between testing a device in a lab setting and testing its application under real-world conditions. Some humility would suit you well.

Okay sock puppet. Practice what you preach would suit you well.

Nope, not a sock puppet. Just another poster who thinks you are missing the point, and your attempts to disguise that fact by prattling on about metaphors and context don't work.

Do you answer yourself too when talking to yourself?

Feel free to ask Jeff if I am the poster whom you told they are lacking reading comprehension.

You going to run and tell your mommy?!

No, I was suggesting you do, since you see sock puppets everywhere. I was absent from this thread for the past twenty minutes or so, so you've been railing against other people.

Was that when you ran to tell your mommy?

I believe and hop that cases will drop off soon. But we always have the next variant to look forward to. In any case, I too don’t believe mandates will be back.

The only interesting argument was over the question whether the lifting of the mask mandate caused the increase in cases, but it kept getting derailed by people who don't understand the difference between the question whether masks (can) work vs whether mask mandates in schools work.

If you are vaccinated, its nothing more than a cold. COVID fear mongering IS over. Covid variant is blowing through so many of my friends now and their kids, my whole family had it a few weeks ago. Most colds are worse and last longer. If you are vaccinated, carry on.

Umm, tell that to my niece who was on the verge of going to the ER.

Wait - someone ON THE VERGE of going to the ER (but clearly ended up not going) is supposed to have me shaking in my boots?!?

You people are unreal.

I believe it started because there was a post up earlier than read that mask do not work. A poster got mad about that because they didn’t see it because it’s removed and made it into a mask mandate issue. There is no mandate.
