Honestly I am happy we have an explanation for why his acting was so terrible in recent movies, it felt like he didn’t care but instead was just struggling.

So that begs the question why he did all of those movies last year.
Not clear if he was contracted to do the movies before his symptoms / diagnosis, or if symptoms began and he couldn’t get out of the projects, or if he was symptomatic and still wanted to continue filming for some reason.
Seems unkind to release details about his poor acting now knowing this diagnosis.

He was trying to earn as much as he could before he had to stop?

His entire entourage was earning as much as possible before they were shut down. His earpiece guy was making $200K a movie, sometimes four hours of work, never more than a day on set.

Instead of assuming malicious intent, perhaps imagine that Bruce knew his working days were numbered and HE wanted to do whatever he could to sock away cash for his big family (5 kids plus a wife who isn't likely to work) AND take care of his loyal staff.

I think that was the case.

His reputation was that of a party guy, but also an all around good guy.

Heck, he probably also realizes HE will incur a lot of expenses for longterm care at some point--and that will eat into whatever he can leave behind for his family.

It's sad, but I believe he is making good decisions based on his interest in providing for his family. I don't think anyone is taking advantage of him...not with Demi involved.

There is a difference between putting him up on boring roles as a family doctor living in the suburbs and cheating on his wife and an action role where his stunts have the potential to harm and affect others. See what just happened with Alec Baldwin and killing that cinematographer. Now think back on this incident two years ago -

In one alleged incident two years ago on a Cincinnati set of the movie “Hard Kill,” Willis unexpectedly fired a gun loaded with a blank on the wrong cue, according to two people familiar with the incident who were not authorized to comment. No one was injured. The film’s producer disputed that the incident occurred, but the alleged discharge left actors and crew members shaken.

And, if everyone was just indulging his wishes, why change course on the day an expose is coming out? The story doesn't make him look bad, it makes the family and industry look bad.

Bruce Willis in Moonlighting was my first celebrity crush and I still love him, but he was definitely familiar with the Razzies even when he was perfectly healthy. You can’t be that prolific and not make a bunch of duds. But when he was good it was amazing.

Same, have crushed on him since Moonlighting. I wondered if he made all of those B films recently to stockpile money for his family, knowing he’d need to retire soon due to this condition.

I think that was the deal, yes. He made a contract with a producer to give his name to a bunch of straight-to-video movies in exchange for money, and the producer was aware of his need for specific supports. Both benefitted.

Between Moonlighting residuals for syndication and the many millions he was paid for years of blockbuster movies, why the hell did he need to do that?

I knew when those pics were originally posted that he was heading down this path. He had aged dramatically and had the gaping mouth, vacant look that the people I know IRL with early onset dementia have. That's the point. He was being used and abused for high-level salaries for everyone around him including agents, handlers, and if his wife just this ride - her too. He didn't even know why he was on set, pointedly asking 'why am I here?'
