| Must be bad if his family is putting out a statement instead of him. Good luck to them all. |
Also explains the weird pandemic family set up they had going. Bruce was pictured living with Demi and his adult daughters during Covid in a remote area but not with his second wife and under 8 daughters. |
So his youngest kids wouldn’t know what was going on? I wonder how he was able to handle his brief appearance in his movie that was filmed in 2020. |
Terribly and I can see why his family his making this public now. He was prolific. They wouldn't want him to diminish his portfolio by struggling in roles or just dropping out. Bruce Willis — who starred in no less than eight movies in 2021 — has been given his own category at the 42nd annual Razzie Awards. “Worst Performance by Bruce Willis in a 2021 Movie” is the name of the new category, and the nominations include every single film he starred in last year, including American Siege, Apex, Cosmic Sin, Deadlock, Fortress, Midnight in the Switchgrass, Out of Death, and Survive the Game. Midnight in the Switchgrass was dead last in Vulture’s ranking of straight-to-VOD Bruce Willis films, with our reviewer commenting, “Bruce Willis is a nonessential worker here.” https://www.vulture.com/2022/02/razzie-nominations-worst-bruce-willis-performance.html |
| There have been rumors of dementia for a while. He has been unable to remember lines or his part in his recent films. It's unsurprising but still sad to hear this. |
|
| It's a speech disorder. It's possible that he "knew" the lines but couldn't articulate them. |
He was also said to be missing cues, etc. |
| Early Onset Alzheimer’s? Aphasia was the first symptom with my mother. It’s heartbreaking. |
As written by his own family, it comes with cognitive impairment. It's hard to tease out what's due to what, but the end result is that he's generally impaired, and also speech-impaired. It's sad, but then a lot of elderly folks have something, and he's had a wonderfully successful life, so... I don't think we should feel too bad for him. It looks as though he was a decent enough person that his ex, his children and his current wife are all taking care of him. Wishing him a peaceful retirement. |
Yes, my father had early onset Alzheimer's and Parkinson's and had aphasia. Heartbreaking. |
| Extremely sad. |
| He’s only 67. I feel bad for all his children. |
| Aphasia doesn’t always come with cognitive decline but it looks like his family is stating that his does. I don’t like the conflation of aphasia with cognitive issues because I know someone who has aphasia but normal cognitive function and it’s very challenging, he is treated very poorly by many who conflate the two. |
