No one knows for sure, but Caitlynn Peetz thinks there's more coming: https://mobile.twitter.com/CaitlynnPeetz14/status/1479250025834242050

Thank you

At this point, with no communication from MCPS or my DDs school (BCC), I’m assuming my DD is going in. Not hearing anything by now is ludicrous. It’s after 9pm!!

MCPS said they'd update their 2hr delay at 5am if conditions warranted. So if you're opening one eye for that, you might as well check on any Covid closures announced at the last minute!

The communications are a complete shit show and do nothing but add to the uneasiness and chaos going on right now.
I applauded McKnight for coming up with a clear and concise policy regarding 5% positive moving to virtual. But when that actually happened, parents were left with absolutely No information.
There is nothing but mistrust and chaos at this point.
The fact they all gave themselves an extra week of break instead of planning for eventual scenarios and veing prepared for them is sad as hell.

Our red school sent an email/robocall tonight (Thursday) about rapid tests being sent home tomorrow, or Monday in case of snow day. We’re supposed administer the tests that same evening and report any positives.

My understanding is that this is the first-level response to yesterday’s “red” status, and then they’ll discuss next steps with DHHS based on whatever that school-wide rapid testing shows about the current state of affairs, without those holiday cases folded into the numbers.

It won’t capture kids who stayed home because they’d been exposed since they won’t get a kit

Our yellow school is getting tests too. They’re not just for red.

My red school is not getting tests.

We were told parents could pick up a kit at the office if kids aren't in school that day.

We're at a red elementary school and haven't heard anything from our principal since Wednesday evening. That email was terrific, but since then, crickets.

My guess is she has no guidance from MCPS leadership, and is waiting until she does.

Seriously, what can they say when they don't have any more information than the rest of us? Our red HS sent a message about rapid tests being distributed, and reassured parents that the school would be ready to pivot if instructed to do so, but that's it. I don't expect to hear much else unless they're authorized or instructed by their higher-ups.

DP.. neither our MS (red) or HS (yellow) has sent out any communication whatsoever regarding tests or being ready to pivot if needed. Communication is sorely lacking. My only saving grace is that my kids are old enough to take care of themselves and figure out their online learning on their own.

Not PP, but my guess is that poster was expecting more from MCPS, not their principal. And for what it is worth, many red school principals have sent nothing at all. Something along the lines of what you received is what we would want.
