Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS)
|
Sorry for another thread on this topic. But I'm not interested in debate on what should happen, conjecture, or ranting about MCPS, which all the other thread seem to be about. I'm really just interested in if anyone gets any actual info on what will happen to the newly-red schools (or all of them.) I'm sure we'll eventually get some info, but this site has been a good source for early intel in the past.
Thanks! |
| I kept my kids home yesterday and today and we haven’t gotten any notification from our schools (1 high school, 1 middle school) about a plan for closing. My kids’ individual teachers have made comments about preparing to go virtual and some have shared zoom links for if/when that happens. |
| Newly red ES parent; received email from principal saying we can expect to hear from MCPS with an update again tonight at 7 pm (1/6). |
| Our principal sent a robo-call and email this morning saying school was in person today and that they were working with MCPS regarding next steps. |
| So sad that it has come to this -- using DCUM to get information that we should get from MCPS. |
| My kid’s red school is in person today. Hoping it stays that way. |
| Schools are open and operating as normal, per the families demands of last year and over the summer. |

Got an email last might from our high school Principal saying that they were in consultation with the health department and more info would be forthcoming - no word as to when, of course. The poor Principals are between a rock and a hard place. |
I’ve always been curious where this troll lives…… |
| I think that MCPS has given principals the language to use. The email from our principal was much clearer and better written than usual. |

Agree. We are a yellow school and got a principal email that indicated everyone would get a further update tonight at 7pm again. |

... must be brain dead, to call this "normal". |
You mean trolls like you? You demanded in person. You are getting what you demanded. Stop complain and get off DCUM to make a back up plan for if schools shut down. |
