PP you’re directly replying to, and right, because bodies are different in many ways, including where they build muscle more easily. Heavy weights are still going to be the most efficient way to build muscle. |
Are you single? I can't imagine a married woman caring to this degree. |
Yes I am. |
Are you kidding? A quarter would just lie there. |
NP One has to be single to care about this? |
| DP. To answer OP’s earlier question about whether doing squats and lunges will build a good butt — YES. Marathon training does not engage the glutes efficiently. Squats and lunges with proper form give you the best results. I am another former college athlete poster. I had never really lifted weights before freshman year. I came home for thanksgiving break that year and my sister was like “whoa you have a butt”. It is basically the same now because I have kept up with the weight training. Another really good exercise is glute bridges with a resistance band around your thighs a few inches above the knees. You will get a really good burn. Like everything you need to be consistent and you will see a difference. A big round butt is from having developed glutes. There’s no secret. |
This might be a cause of the aging. I noticed extremely thin women tend to age horribly and look bodily (and facially) much older than their plumper counterparts |
|
Another believer in squats and bridges here. My butt was a bit saggy and jiggly before, now it looks awesome (to me) in jeans and naked. DH loves it too, although he always complimented it before, too.
It’s probably just the two of us who notice, but lifting really did begin up make my whole body more youthful. I’m a convert. |

OP, definitely lift weights. There is no other course of action here, outside of butt implants. If you have had no butt your whole life, than you will have some structural challenges but there are plenty of resources out there to maximize the workouts of the butt-disadvantaged.
Weights - heavy ones. |
Wait until you see what the butt of naked 50 yr old men look like. YouLl feel great about yourself |
This! OP why are you so insecure? |
+1 I follow the directions and never have had a knee problem. If you do them incorrectly, you will have problems. |
Me too. Squats are the way to go. |
NP. I’m married and care a lot! I like looking good and feeling good. I do weights and cardio before work, plus simple beauty routines. As long as I’m alive I will care about being fit and looking nice. |
My husband’s is a rock. High and tight. Looks amazing in boxer briefs and naked. I was a college athlete and still lift weights, squat and exercise and my butt is defying gravity. |
