Parents who have children there use this term. I’ve heard it many times.

Don't think anyone really cares what you believe.

Why do I care where "Visi" girls go to college?

Yup it’s Visi … have friends who go to Visi

I'm guessing they are from Southern families whose parents moved to DC during the GWB years to work in GOP politics. Those kids would be hitting college age right now.

Greek life, SEC schools, culturally Southern, wealthy & privileged...it's a family thing.

Plenty of affluent families in the DMV sent their kids south before GWB came into office.

I knew a few prep school grads who headed to Clemson back in the 1990s. They were looking for a not so complicated college experience in a warmer state with good school spirit and they got exactly what they wanted, and they all have comfortable lives today. That's all there is to it.

They're rich white kids. Where they go to college is irrelevant to future success.

spending all that money and ended up going to measly clemson... shame

I dont understand why someone would pay $40-50K a year for high school to then enroll at public university in South Carolina. Not a troll, just a lowly public school parent.

Because it’s not about “getting into a school” it’s about living each day and having a great experience at Visi, or STJ, or stone ridge or holy cross. Each child shadows a schools, finds one that will make the next 4 years the best for that specific child.

Why pay $3500/year got club soccer if you are not playing in college? Because they like it.

Also $40K isn’t all that much, if it were then you would possibly have other more pressing priorities.

Amazing how a thread about 9 girls choosing to go to Clemson could get 6 pages of ridiculous speculation as to why...some of you people need a hobby and some manners. Would love for one of these kids parents to actually see some of these posts.

PP. Thanks. I was under the assumption that these higher priced WERE about getting into a school. Guess I stand corrected.

Strange comment/observation. Why would thread even be established if poster wasn't looking for discussion?
