| I got diamond studs when I graduated from law school. They're still my favorite earrings. |
I would not assume that. I grew up upper middle class in a nyc suburb and did not have diamond studs until DH got them for me for an a gift when I was about 35. My parents would not have bought diamonds for me (pearls, yes, if I had wanted them which I never have, haha o the culture clash on that, although think it is also age related not just geography), and I do not buy myself expensive jewelry. I think diamond studs or the Burberry trench are special gift ideas for a new grad who will be in a professional setting. |
Ugh...I'd hate getting a chain wallet. And I'd feel bad that someone spent so much on an "everyone has it" item I wouldn't use. |
Also that would be about $7k or more with the recent price increases on Chanel |
I make good use of mine. |
Nonsense |
People will assume cheap knockoff. |
There are really no knockoffs that can compare with the quality of a true Chanel. Have you even seen a real Chanel in person? Weird comment. |
What?! No. Not true. I know very few people who wear diamond studs *now*, much less who had multiple pairs when in grad school. |
And most regular people don’t own real Chanel bags beyond something tiny- maybe. They assume most are fakes especially if being carried by someone young in a median paying job |
| ^or daddy bought it |
Your conclusion, based on a sample size of 1, is wildly inaccurate. |
Again, a real Chanel does not look fake. And MBAs from well regarded schools generally don't start in "median paying" jobs. This is a stupid thing to say. |
Most "regular" people don't wear Cartier watches, either. Or have MBAs. We aren't talking about the hoi polloi right now. |
An MBA is nothing special. Many people have them and most aren’t making even 6 figures. Most people wouldn’t notice a Cartier watch- at all. But a Chanel bag isn’t exactly inconspicuous |
