If you gave her a Cartier watch for college graduation, what gift for MBA?

This. I bought one 11 years ago for a big promotion and I still wear it.

I think the diamond studs are too personal, because who knows what size she really wants, and not the kind of thing you can ask. Would you like 1 carat? 3/4 carat? 2 carat? I have a pair, also platinum, from my DH, I wear them everyday, and I would not like to have more than one pair. They are not huge the right size for me, but what's the right size for her?

I would go with a really high quality cashmere something for the $2000 budget.

My vote is Chanel wallet on chain. Fun bag she can use when she goes out at night. It's timeless. Around 3K.

This is gorgeous and if she liked the Cartier tank she would like this I think. I don't mind the idea of diamond studs but I think the work bag is a better fit for the occasion. If you go with jewelry I would consider a solitaire necklace, I like this company: https://www.vrai.com/jewelry/necklaces/solitaire-diamond-pendant?diamondType=emerald&metal=white-gold&goldPurity=14k&ringSize=other

I was anti Chanel bag, but I take it back! The chain wallet is great idea. It isn’t as expensive and with not being a daily use bag (date nights, evenings out) that could easily last decades.

My parents gave me diamond earrings when I graduated from business school.

I like the Chanel wallet bag idea or Burberry trench. Diamond earrings good too- Costco has the best price and quality.

Diamond studs or pearls. But it also depends on her personality if that would be an appreciated gift. Or cash/brokerage/IRA .

I love my diamond studs. Dh gave me a 1ct pair on my wedding day. I wouldn’t go less than 1ct because those are chips and not worth the money. Or they’re for children. 1 or 1.5ct are the best. I’m petite and the 2cts looked gaudy on my ears, but I wish I had the 1.5ct now. Mine were $3500 but it’s been several years since I got them.

Also want to say that martini earrings are the best. They don’t droop like basket style.

DCUM culture clash! I grew up here, and diamond studs were not done; that was for people in the flashier jobs up in NYC. We would go for the pearls every time. Times change.

I'd assume most women have at least 1 set of diamond earrings by grad school. I had 3 pairs, got rid of one. I'm not even UC

High end work bag like the linked Celine one. Get it in black.

It’s lovely/classy without being showy.
