Yep this. Very classy.

No..a 23-24 yr old with a large Chanel bag looks ridiculous

How do you know how old she is? And this piece is an investment. Will hold value, if not appreciate.

A $5000 purse for a 20something will give her huge eye rolls at her new 50k/yr job

She's getting an MBA and travels in circles where a Cartier is an acceptable gift for a BA from a godparent. I'm guessing she will be making far more than 50k unless she's working for a non-profit or in publishing while living off of mom and dad.

And even then, Chanel is acceptable!

Just because she has a wealthy godparent doesn’t mean she will be raking in the money with a fresh MBA. Most people with a graduate degree aren’t even making over 100k

The average MBA starting salary is almost 100k a year, from a top school the average will range from over 100k to almost 200k.

Diamond earrings are too expensive. Let her parents give those.

I like the Chanel bag or Burberry trench idea. Or a beautiful cashmere trench. I saw a nice one at Theory recently.

Shopping spree at Saks:

Plus $2k to spend on work/young adult wardrobe.

Now, Luvey, you know better than that. Ponies are for peasants. That’s what we got the nursemaid when she dried up. Nothing but the tallest, fastest thoroughbred for our toddler.

A small Chanel flap handbag starts around $5k

I think 1 tcw are a beautiful gift. 2ct, as a grad present, is over the top.

I love the suggestions for diamond studs or burberry trench and would have loved either was a law school graduation gift. I got and appreciated $750 shopping spree as a law school grad gift, but that was a long time ago when one needed all suits for workwear.

I did not know cartier tank watch is “only” $2500- I now regret buying myself a $1500 patek phillipe watch and should have sprung for the cartier!

There are different models of tank, some of them with diamonds, and some are very basic. The price difference can be thousands of dollars.

How would I go about buying $2500 diamond studs? Is $2,500 enough for this? Literally, where to look, what to expect, etc. Thank you!

Try your local jeweler.

I would not buy $2500 diamond studs. Those are more like diamond chips.

1 tcw would be perfect for professional and everyday wear if desired.

These bag and studs suggestions are the female equivalent of the 24yo bro with the Ferrari or Tesla Roadster.
