If you gave her a Cartier watch for college graduation, what gift for MBA?

I did not know cartier tank watch is “only” $2500- I now regret buying myself a $1500 patek phillipe watch and should have sprung for the cartier!

LOL if you got a patek for $1500 then it’s fake.

OP- what about a large Hermes silk and cashmere scarf? They are beautiful and really nice accessories for the fall/winter. She will keep it forever and I think it’s about $1500.

Why not just talk to her? Spending thousands in a present she might not want seems a little silly. Pearls or certain bags may simply not.be her style. Just ask her.

How would I go about buying $2500 diamond studs? Is $2,500 enough for this? Literally, where to look, what to expect, etc. Thank you!

Lab created diamonds would be a good way to go in this range - Vrai or Lightbox.

Try your local jeweler.

I would not buy $2500 diamond studs. Those are more like diamond chips.

1 tcw would be perfect for professional and everyday wear if desired.

+1

You cannot buy quality 1ct studs for $2500. Perhaps a diamond by the yard necklace would be nice.

I'd definitely go fine jewelry or nice handbag. Girl probably already has diamond studs. Solid gold bangles? Years from now, she can sell for gold weight, so it's an investment.

How much would you expect to spend on quality 1 tcw diamond studs?

I agree with this. A Burberry trench is timeless and a great milestone gift.

I would have LOVED to have this as a gift at that age. But as the gift giver, I think there's too much personal taste/size involved. Black or taupe, busy or simple, size, etc. Whereas, like the Cartier watch, the diamond stud or gold bangles are just timeless and (nearly) universal.

Good gift, but this is fit and style specific to her body. This would be hard to guess what size and style she would like and would be most flattering

Diamond studs get my vote. Ive been wearing the same platinum (great for allergic ears!) pair for 15+ years now. Blue Nile is a decent choice for your price range and they are conflict-free.

Undergraduates are making way more than 50k straight out of school and are often wearing Tory Burch shoes etc.

You should give half the budget to one of the free children's healthcare clinics mentioned in another thread, and then buy a gift with the other half.

Ha! Plenty of undergraduates working at Starbucks, living with roommates (or parents) and trying to find a better job. There are only so many high paying job to be found.

I think most people think the classic beige (honey in their colors) is what most of us are talking about. That is timeless.
