How can you tell if someone is conservative?

Anonymous
She might be conservative if - If she is in an MLM or wears / uses MLM products- Young Living oils, Norwex cleaning, drinks “loaded teas” aka Herbalife, any MLM makeup. If she is a SAHM but is not wealthy. If she has a custom straw tumbler that is covered in glitter and says something about Jesus.

But in all seriousness, just ask her about school boundaries or “good schools”. That’s something all moms like to talk about and if you are both white, it’s when the racists let their true priorities be known.

She's happy with her life, smiles a lot, genuinely cares about others and their well-being and seems at peace with herself and others.

+1

Happy people are usually conservatives. There have actually been a lot of studies on this.

Perhaps because conservative means wanting to conserve the status quo, so if someone is happy in the status quo, they are likely to want to preserve it

Genuinely cares about others so votes for the party that is anti social safety net programs and anti school funding?

Sure, Jan.

The smell of ignorance, bigotry, and fear usually gives them away.

NP. And which one of the above posters do you think is happier?

Love,
Right-wing UMC college-educated mom who knows I have to signal this if I want anyone to know!

To continue this, things that would make me suspect another mom was conservative: mentions her church, is young but has three or more kids, sends her kids to a religious private school. I would not assume things based on dress, which IMO derives much more from upbringing and family of origin culture than politics.

Of course, you can always be off base but the voting charts are a good give away.

Military enlisted, maybe. Every officer I know, including my DH, my oldest child, and our friends are more liberal. None voted for TFG.

Reasons include: DH's pickup truck; working in financial industry; being from the South; dressing up; having a child young (26); living in Alexandria; not being overly "PC"/woke; and simply not hating conservatives.

Long time Alexandria resident here. Who assumes people who live in Alexandria are conservative?

Didn't Alexandria go for Biden at like 80-90%?

I know, right? Our entire city council is D.

You can't.

I'm a sahm, go to church and have an American flag flying in front of my house.

Why? I have an exhausting autoimmune disease (sahm), do believe in God, my family was in the military (flag). I'm also a left wing liberal.

I find that people I have met here "out" themselves as conservatives with me eventually, usually when they make fun of other races (assuming I will agree with them) or laugh when I say something even slightly political related - like, I enjoyed seeing the Obama's portraits in the museum the other day.

I don't understand why conservatism and bigotry go hand in hand.

Because both conservatives and bigots don't think that white people should have to share wealth or power with brown people.

😂

That’s right. Feel the peace and joy radiating from the contented conservatives.

So beautiful, so full of life and love.

+1. I’m a SOUTHERN liberal who wears pearls. I’m not religious though.

I'm a leftie that wears pearls. That said, I can basically guess your politics 100% of the time just on how people present -- clothes, shoes, hair (especially!), make up... I used to work around Heritage and we could spot them a block away.

Haha, that doesn't mean that you can guess anyone's politics 100% of the time, only that you can reliably spot people who work for Heritage.

The Republicans I've met aren't very happy. I mean as a group conservatives are dying of a disease for which there is a vaccine because they bought into Russian propaganda.
