Russian, but not troll. I have not been to Trump's rallies. I am talking about liberal women in DC and DC burbs. |
This is ridiculous - I am a SAHM/ attend church/ do charity work and am very committed to social justice ideals as are many of my peers. Many Christians care about: mitigating climate change (creation is sacred); addressing structural racism (all are made in God’s image); want gun controls (pro life); and believe in evolution and do not see science and religion as in conflict relationship (western science and Christian religion grew up together over many centuries). There are wedge issues such as abortion that tend to be more divisive and cynical populist politicians know how to exploit the wedge issues. In reality, the Bible has over 2,000 references to helping the poor and disenfranchised, and none to abortion, and very few to homosexuality, which makes it pretty clear to me that the divine is most passionate about elevating those who are wrestling with poverty and suffering. Also the Christian faith, along with all other mainstream religions and many indigenous religions have some version of the Golden Rule in either positive or negative form. (Treat others the way you would like to be treated or don’t treat others in ways you would not like to be treated). In general, liberals try much harder to treat others with dignity, which is certainly ly the way I would like to be treated. Please do not create unnecessary fractures between SAHMs and working moms. We all care about our children and make choices that are best for our families. |
9/28 said Ok I'm the OP. I don't think I'm a troll. The reason I ask is this. A mom I have been pretty close with for 5 years described another mom as "super progressive just like us." I am conservative and I have never said or done anything to imply that I am progressive, in fact I make a point to stay neutral and change the subject because I don't discuss these things outside my family. So I was curious if there were ways people broadcast their affiliation. I will admit that I am lax with my kids about Covid but the other markers you have stated do not apply to me. Thanks and sorry if I offended anyone. >>>>>>>>. Interesting … I guess we all probably do this in some way - when we like others, we assume it is because they are like us in important ways. Conversely, when we dislike others, we may assume they are not like us in fundamental values. OP sounds like she is probably a nice friend/ easy to be around and her friend assumed her pleasantry implied shared liberal values. There are all kinds of people on both sides of the political spectrum. |

You two sound delightful. |
Toothy laugh 😆 😂 |
Like Hillary? |
You know, it is possible to disagree with your affiliated political party on specific issues. It is a complicated world. I question the critical thinking capabilities of those who align with their political party on every topic. |
| I have pink hair and am a conservative. LOL! |
Liberal “women” may also have a p#n&s under that dress. |
