Russians hijacked the flight to divert attention from their invasions.

Eh, Russia doesn't care who knows about their invasions. They are very self-confident in that department.

Wouldn't someone in the Andaman Islands have noticed a 777 landing there?

Here's what I don't get- How could the plane keep flying for hours with both the tracking turned off and NO PASSENGERS making any phone calls or texts?

2 am, everyone's asleep, maybe no coverage?

Yes in the middle of the ocean you get 5 bars. Really!! Think about it for a few minutes...okay now google how a cell phone work. See if you can explain why no one texted or made a call over the ocean.

Yes, but isn't it possible that, if the pilot or pilots did this on purpose, they (the pilots) could have put their oxygen masks on and then depressurized the cabin. That would have killed the passengers very quickly, but with the masks on, the pilots could continue to fly. It is a grotesque and scary thought, but, coupled with the other post regarding a possible terrorist group trying to get the plane to use as a delivery mechanism for a future attack, could explain no communication of any sort from passengers.

There are 535 uninhabited islands, so if someone had cut a runway on one of them, no one would notice (if they covered it up along the way). And if a plane landed at night, no one might notice. It's jungle out there so they can hide the plane once landed.

Not saying that's what happened (I personally think they crashed in the ocean), but whatever happened has not happened before, and someone was piloting the plane, so it's not out of the question that someone landed the plane--as long as it was set up ahead of time.

Why were there so many lithium batteries on board in the cargo area?

So, I assume they are searching the Andaman Islands at first light (soon) ... ?

No India has military radar that covers all the island. A jet that big would be notice on radar designed to detect low flying aircraft.

No it's out of the question. That jet has to land at an airport, not something cut out of the jungle. It's not a small plane.

The plane crashed somewhere on the vast planet. Move on.

New York Times is now reporting that the plane had a shift of altitude going up to 45,000 feet and changed course more than once.

If it is in Pakistan, Iran, Burma, or Somalia will it ever be found? Who would search?

How would it get there, though, without being detected by…allied countries?
