You must agree:

Russia is evil and devious. They are an enemy of the United States.

Everyone knows that.

Everyone except Republicans.

The most plausible theory to me was some kind of sabotage against the Freescale semiconductor employees (whether it was in house or from another party). I could not believe the pilot would take his life along with a plane full of people.

It happens.

Families were calling loved ones cellphones and hearing rings. They believed that this was indicative of a working cellphone at the other end of the call. Cellphones aren't landlines though.

One Chinese family claims they had an incoming call but no one on the other end when they picked up.

Excuse us for not wanting nuclear war.

I guess the part I can’t wrap my head around is how did none of the passengers place a call to their families. Even if the pilot locked himself in the cockpit and was depressurizing the cabin, there would have been time for someone, anyone to place a call. Even the flight attendant could have called the airline like they did on 9/11. That part baffles me. 239 people on board and not one person raised the alarm that something was amiss. This is why I’m beginning to believe the missile theory because the incident had to have been instantaneous and catastrophic. And If he veered off course as the satellite data suggest how did no one pick a rogue plane up in their airspace? That was something I hadn’t thought about before but it makes sense—someone would have noticed something on radar even if he turned off communications with controllers. The case is just utterly fascinating. How can we lose a 777?!?

I agree the case is totally mystifying, but the one part that doesn’t really surprise me is the lack of phone calls.

At cruising altitude, rapid decompression will lead to most people being unconscious in less than 30 seconds - maybe as little as 10 seconds. It’s not really obvious what is happening - often people experiencing hypoxia will feel perfectly fine right up until they pass out. Their only warning would be a decompression alarm, assuming the pilot didn’t disable it.

So, picture: it’s the middle of the night, you’ve settled in at cruise altitude. Most people have probably put their phones away and are resting, possibly asleep. Was the alarm disabled? We don’t know. If it was, passengers just … passed out. They likely had no clue that anything was wrong. If the alarm did go off, what are people going to do with those 10-30 seconds? The plane wasn’t in radar contact or radio range - what kind of cell signal do you think they had, even if they could get their phones out in time? 9/11 was: low altitude, in range of cell towers, mid morning so everyone was awake and many probably already had phones in hand. Totally different situation.

Yes. Is anyone watching the Netflix series on this that went live this week? The theories are absolutely insane! I don't know what to believe.

I watched all three episodes and what stood out to me is that officially the pilot was no longer being blamed. There is no explanation for this plane disappearing.

I truly disliked the series, it was just a bunch of wild conspiracy theories and if there is anything this world does not need right now it is that.

Also, I don't think the pilot was ever officially blamed or cleared. It's still inconclusive.

One, nuclear war won't happen because of financial support for Ukraine, but it could if Russia gets embolden and continues to go after other countries. You get provides
Two, take it somewhere else because as far as I know, this thread is about what happened to the airplane, not about your weird alright positions on Russia

Oh please. I think that theory was very clearly debunked, as well as ridiculed by pretty much everyone (including the people in the episode). This was hardly some political "Russia did it" expose. But, mentioning it was relevant considering a Malaysian airliner was shot down over Ukraine in the year after this one disappeared. So it's not like this theory came out of nowhere . . . .

Nearly all Republicans have signed off on aid to Ukraine, and supported our role in helping Ukraine repel Russia’s unlawful war of aggression.

Ron Paul is, in fairness, a Libertarian like his father, although he caucuses with the Republicans (just as Bernie is not really a democrat). Go do your reading on Libertarians’ views of ANY foreign intervention.

And yes, there are a few radical outliers opposed to aid; they are outliers. Would you agree 100% of democrats are represented by The Squad?

Yep. That journalist who continues to push this theory borders on looney toons, but it started off as a plausible theory. However, he continues to hold onto it in spite of overwhelming evidence that the theory is looney toons.

Well, that does agree with a depressurized cabin. They managed to dial but lost consciousness. Even if you dialed immediately at the first sign of trouble, you wouldn't have been able to say more than a few words.

I did not see the Netflix show, but I followed this case extensively in real time, every lead and theory.

We can fairly safely conclude that it is nearly certain that the Pilot of 370 intentionally committed mass murder-suicide.

It is proven beyond a doubt that the airplane crashed in the Southern Indian Ocean. 100s pieces of debris have been washed ashore in Reunion and other islands, at least 30 of them have been positively identified with serial numbers and acknowledged by Malaysian Airlines to have been positively from the plane.

The shut off of the location transponder was manual, from inside the cockpit, within less than one minute after a “cheery goodbye” from the Captain (the plane’s last communication with someone), exactly as the plane was being handed off. This excludes hijackers or other third parties involvement.

We have data showing that the airplane made two sharp turns that could only be done by a human pilot, not by the autopilot.

We also have data showing that the plane was taken to 40,000 feet early on, and extremely quickly. There can be only one reason; to incapacitate everyone on board. Only the cockpit has oxygen masks that last hours.

While it could theoretically been either of the pilots, the Malaysian government found flight simulator runs in the Captain’s home that mirror some of the maneuvers that 370 carried out.
